Barack Obama: He Ain't No Fortunate Son

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, the product of a white/black relationship before it was cool. He was raised by his single mother. Most of you are aware of his story already yet some have succeeded in viewing him as an elitist based on who he was when you first heard of him: he is a constitutional lawyer who graduated Magna Cum Laude at Harvard; he was President of the Harvard Law Review; he is obviously a successful intellectual. Calling him arrogant or an elitist is just a PC way of calling him uppity.

How easy do you think it is to be a black child born in the 60s from a single, struggling, white mother and achieve all that Barack Obama has achieved in life culminating so far into a major party Candidate for President of the United States who gets his political capital from the people who support him and not Industry as is the status quo in Washington?

In what universe is that not impressive?

Who was the last candidate whose candidacy did not lobby any power from the Washington power structure but his ability to motivate PEOPLE? George Washington, the person for whom Washington was named?

Ronald Reagan fancied himself a populist, but he had deep ties into big business and the military industrial complex as well.

George W Bush bragged about the political capital he got and it unashamably wasn't from ordinary people.

Barack Obama has lived by very humble means and understands America down to a level that John Sidney McCain III (IV?) never will. Just as Barack Obama may never know what it's like to be locked in a cage with his arms broken unless some fringe elements of society get their hands on him. If you really want change, you will find it with Barack Obama.

John Sidney McCain III (IV?)'s story though compelling is more of a saga of fortune: He was born the son and grandson of admirals sharing the same name; he graduated in the bottom percent at the Naval Academy; he was tortured and endured a living hell at the hands of an occupied country who had been fighting for their independence for longer than we've been fighting them and eventually got it; from there, it was direct to Congress and he has been there ever since. All this acheivement, though some of it very honorable I'm sure, is mainly stemming from the fruits of his breeding, which led to his POW status, which got him the help of very influential Republicans to place him into politics.

It was as if he was one of the boys. The McCain service to this country goes pretty far back. His great-great-grandfather William Alexander McCain (sins of ancestors as well as virtues being irrelevant) was a slave-owning plantation-owner until he died as a private in the Confederate Army. His great-grandfather also named John Sidney McCain who went by J.S. McCain (for a grand total of four John Sidney McCains of direct male lineage, each of whom were their own man I'm sure) was sheriff, then became President of the Board of Supervisors of Caroll County, in Mississippi where uppity Barack Obama would be drawing a different kind of crowd.

Camp McCain, named for John S McCain III(I)'s great-uncle (Admiral John S McCain I(I)'s brother) Major-General Henry Pickney McCain is currently a Mississippi National Guard training camp. His other great-uncle, William A. McCain (II) retired as a brigadier general who served in both WWI and WWII. John S McCain I(I) and II(I) were Admirals in the Navy.

Not part of the "Old Boy Network"? About as not a part of it as George W Bush, son of a President/Billionaire, grandson of a Senator/Billionaire.

Who will America elect to be the next President of the United States? Someone who pulled himself to the forefront by his own ridiculously impressive merits or another C-student, Fortunate Son who could care less for the interests of ordinary people though pretends to with the support of lobbyists?
