It's about Damn time

I have stated time and time again the Democrats don't have the political spine to stand up for the American people.

Happily I have been proven wrong:

1) Congressman Anthony Weiner(NY) introduced the "put up or shut up bill" which would have called for the end of medicare -  a socialist healthcare system run by the US Government and opposed by the Republicans since it's inception and have been trying to bankrupt and privitize over the past 8 years.

For all their bellyaching over government run healthcare:

Q: why didn't one Republican vote to end Medicare when they had the chance?

A: They would have lost most of their base - older white Americans - and they're hypocrites 

2) Congressman Alan Grayson (Fl) got on the floor of Congress and called out the Republicans as being the party of no, trying to kill reform and allowing 45,000 people a year to die due to lack of healthcare coverage or dropped due to "pre-existing conditions" - voicing the vast majority of the people's outrage at this national disgrace.

When Congressman Joe Wilson called President Obama a liar during a joint session of congress and broke house protocols - the Republicans were "outraged" when the House followed procedure and rebuked him.

now - when Congressman Grayson presented facts in his debate - the republicans were calling for disciplinary action - even though he did not break any rules and there are numerous examples of Republicans using even more provocative language on the floor and at town hall meetings.

To me it seems the Republicans are pissed off that the Democrats are FINALLY showing some guts and pushing back and fighting  fire with fire - but with facts backing them up.

I may be an Independent - but I have to admit there may be hope yet for the Democrats - stand up to the special interest and pass meaningful reform
