Earlier I posted my McCain's weekend lineup that included Karl Rove, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Mike Brown as joke.
Guess what? They are that dumb. Dick Cheney dealt the final blow to John McCain's campaign earlier today by volunteering his endorsement.
Bush went AWOL. You won't find him anywhere. No way, no how. Cheney was not that wise. He thought that since this is all about McCain = Bush, his endorsement has some value.
Sure enough, the Obama campaign did not miss it:
I'd like to congratulate Senator McCain on this endorsement because he really earned it. That endorsement didn't come easy. Senator McCain had to vote 90 percent of the time with George Bush and Dick Cheney to get it. He served as Washington's biggest cheerleader for going to war in Iraq, and supports economic policies that are no different from the last eight years. So Senator McCain worked hard to get Dick Cheney's support. But here's my question for you, Colorado: do you think Dick Cheney is delighted to support John McCain because he thinks John McCain's going to bring change? Do you think John McCain and Dick Cheney have been talking about how to shake things up, and get rid of the lobbyists and the old boys club in Washington?
Just what McCain needed. Maybe we can get former FEMA director Mike Brown, Karl Rove, and George Bush to endorse. When it comes to stupidity, these folks never disappoint.

THANK YOU for putting country first, Dick.
But Cheney doesn't do anything without thinking of the benefits first. You can be assured that he did this to rile up the base so that they would get out the vote. Because Obama appears to be leading in the polls there is a danger for the Republican party that the base will stay home, especially since they were luke warm about McCain in the first place. The McCain campaign has pretty much given up on Independents at this point, as his advertising and rhetoric have been targeted at the base of his own party and other xenophobes. That is why he and Palin are campaigning in states that were solidly for Bush in 2004. Even the campaigning in Pennsylvania, which normally goes Democratic, is focused on the more "traditionally minded" segments of the state. Actually, the only reason they are in Pennsylvania is because they are behind in normally solid red states and thus Pennsylvania is their only chance to "change the game."
Cheney's appearance is a reminder that the McCain campaign is not about to roll over and play dead (despite McCain's SNL skit). The Republican party traditionally has a strong 72-hour get out the vote organization. It's uncertain if it will be as effective this year given that it relies largely on the very people that aren't too kean on McCain to begin with, but nevertheless it should be expected that the will get every voter they can to the polls.
Obama supporters should remember this. Polls are like pledging to donate money to the local public tv station. They don't mean anything if you don't follow through. So get out to vote. Help others get out to vote. Change requires action.
Elections are not won on polls. They are won by having more of your supporters vote than those of the other guy.
Get out the vote.
McCain has antagonized them so much and so often they will never forgive him. Between dissing the evil-gelical elite, pushing for "amnesty" for illegal immigrants, resisting Bush/Cheney's torture agenda (before he flipped), etc. McCain is no friend of the radical right wing that gave us eight years of Bush. He can't even do a credible job of giving testimony to his supposed Christian faith.
If McCain were to die BEFORE the election, he'd have a lot better chance of being elected. The neolithic neo-cons would stampede to the polls to put Palin in the Oval Office.
That has to be worth at least a few 100 thousand votes....for Obama.
Not so. I found him...at 20% approval rating! Welcome to the truly batshit crazy fringe of the extremist fringe of the rightwing extremist element of the loony toon wingnut party of rightwing extremists, Don.

Booshie boy at 20% and sinking like a rock, Cheney at what, 9% and holding steady, and delusional don here clinging on like a gooey booger in sheer desperation. Pathetic.
When this is all over, somebody should probably start a petition of thanks to this diseased white house, to thank them for not only cementing what could very well be a monumental democratic landslide, but for also killing the disease that we've known as the republican party, for at least a generation, and perhaps longer. We truly owe them a debt of gratitude, methinks.
