UNITED STATES MAP - Short But Good!
A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by His little girl, Shelby. She wanted to know what the United States looked like.
Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was Printed the map of the country. Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it To Shelby and said, "Go into the other room and see if you can put this Together. This will show you our whole country today."
After a few minutes, Shelby returned and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked How she had finished so quickly. "Oh," she said, "on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together."

Those who might be alarmed by the separation of church and state need to remember that we have an evangelical in the white house right now, who's boasted of his allegience to Jesus and Jesus' teachings - and who's left the Katrina victims to fend for themselves in misery. Instead of reading the words of Jesus - hopefully learning their message - he lied, lied, lied to start an unprovoked war with one of the many bad guys on the planet (This one had a lot of oil, though). Too bad, this guy wasn't involved in 9/11, but details, details... Meanwhile, the guy who attacked us is somewhere in Pakistan, plotting more mayhem while we're busy staying the course in Iraq breeding more terrorists. Oh, and I'm sure Jesus is the one telling our Prez to condone the use of torture - George said that's who's giving him his orders. (Are you thinking what I'm thinking - maybe it's the other guy?)
If you're really a Christian, this has got to worry you. I was always told that Jesus was loving, forgiving and when his enemy slapped him, he turned the other cheek. Jesus cared about the poor, the downtrodden, the outcast and the lepers. Seems like today's Christians are more Moneytheist than Monotheist. Evangelical televangelists living the high life while some poor old granny sends her social security money to him. Something is VERY wrong with this picture! Where, oh where is Jesus in this con game? Jesus doesn't need your money. Jesus doesn't need mega-churches.
If all the Christians who work in the government were to apply true Christian values in their jobs, government would be a shining beacon - not because it's crossed the line and become joined at the hip with the church - but because it would just be reflecting the deeply held values of its people.
A government like that would probably piss-off most Republicans who seem to hate the poor and the downtrodden. I've never understood how Republicans can flap their jaws about what good church-going Christians they are, and then turn right around and betray every value Jesus taught. They seem to want Jesus to bless their unquenchable desire for more money and power. They also seem to have not one compassionate bone in their bodies! They're clueless to the suffering of others - quite unlike Jesus. Hence, we have such statements as from former Republican First Lady, Barbara Bush:
(from Wikipedia) While visiting a Houston relief center for people displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Bush told the radio program, Marketplace, "Almost everyone I've talked to says, 'We're gonna move to Houston.' What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas... Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality, and so many of the people in the arenas here, you know, were underprivileged anyway. This is working very well for them"
or
Speaking on March 18, 2003, two days before the beginning of the war on Iraq, she told ABC's Good Morning America:
"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"
Would Jesus agree? I think not. If these statements aren't enough to convince, then read anything Ann Coulter or her ilk have written. One can tell how deep the corruption of Christianity has become when it's the women saying such things! Plenty of men out there saying very unChristian things - but it's especially sad to see women sinking to their level.
Know that too many have died in this oil-grabbing war. Did you know that there was a provision in the just-passed Iraq War funding bill that intends to hand over 80% of Iraq's oil to multi-national corporations? Did you know that Halliburton is going to take all that no-bid contract money to Dubai to avoid paying U.S. taxes? That's billions of dollars folks! Add it up!
Does it look like treason yet?
