"President Bush has nominated Michael Baroody - one of Corporate America's leading anti-consumer henchmen - to head the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) - our top government agency protecting millions of Americans from injury and death from unsafe products." From there this article and plea for action doesn't get better folks, check it out. This is just more of the same from a White House that believes we are nothing, and corporate america is everything. He did not win either election. The rampant fraud in the last two elections is terrifying. I could see who these people were before he got it. Not a big one to say I told you so, but...
I talked to my ex a couple of weeks ago. He voted for Bush the first time. The other day he said "I used to think you were just paranoid. But you were absolutely right."
It is good to see people coming around. The question is, does he have to get this guy approved?
If he does then there shouldnt be a problem.
In a way I think the more he shows exactly what he is made of, how much corruption and cronyism the GOP is about the better.
All those GOP Pres hopefuls who have supported him look great now.
And I've been around since Truman.
BTW: Does anybody remember that joke about Eisenhauer?:
"I just got an Eisenhauer doll for Christmas... Yeah, you wind it up and it does nothing for 8 years..."
....... LOL! ......
And, in President Carter's defense:
Jimmy Carter is one of the kindest, most humble men (and also one of the best-educated) we've ever HAD in the White House. It was through President Carter's non-punishing, delicate and sensitive negotiations that we were able to bring the US embassy hostages out of Iran ALIVE...
It took awhile (and cost Carter any hope he ever had of running for a second term) but these people's families and the rest America were SPARED the sight of their dead bodies being dragged down Teheran's streets or their heads being cut off on worldwide video...
Carter also took pity on the so-called "boat people" by allowing them to enter the U.S. just as OUR ancestors were allowed to immigrate here to escape persecution, starvation and oppression in THEIR countries once upon a time, as well...
Carter is a serious Christian and -- whether you agree with or approve of Christianity or not -- the Christian tenet of "love thy neighbor as thyself"/"do unto others" is a humane, worthy and evolved principle and Carter puts his Christian ethics "where his mouth is"...
He also would have had the hostages out alot earlier if George 1 hadnt been arranging for the students (oh maybe that is the problem with Ahmadinejad) to keep the hostages until after the election, and until Reagan took office in exchange for arms sales, which the money in turn was used to fund the Contras.
These are the same people who are in charge now. Gates was deep into the Iran/Contra crap.
George 1 never did come up with an alibi for that day in October he supposedly wasnt in Paris
You quite frankly have no idea how old I am.
History is rememebring Carter very fondly because he was such an honest guy and because he was derailed by the same group that is bringing you this debacle.
There was a meeting in Paris on Ocrtober 2 1980 with the Iranina student holding the hostages in which a deal was struck that if they held onto the hostages until Reagan was elected, (they were released while he was being inauguated) that we would sell them weapons to fight their enemy, Iraq.
That is treason. Also, George I was supposedly there. Now, why would he be there? Still he has never produced an alibi. He had a secret service detail that he apparently excused for a couple of days so that he could stay home and do nothing a month before the election.
At one point Dan Quayle was asked about this and he said that he would find out because of course Bush wasnt there. He never came back with an answer.
The money from the arms sales was used to finanace the Contras. Knee deep in the thick of this was Robert Gates. Nice how they just swept him through.
I do not for one moment trust the Dems either. they refuse to ask the hard questions. They are in one the corporate money grab too. They just arent as fascist as the Republicans.
Oh and Amelie 159
