You've all been hearing about the pet food recalls, and the FDAs bungling of the whole affair, but now we're talking humans, and apparently, they get less protection than our pets. I seriously suspect that it goes further than even this article details, as the wheat gluten that prompted the pet food recalls was rated for human consumption, and it would just be naive to figure that it only got into animal feed and pet food, but so far there has been no admission of that. What is admitted, is bad enough. Link to article below:

Not us , but their friends.
It was only a few years ago that Gale Norton (then, Secretary of the Interior) proclaimed that if cattle were alive when they were dragged into slaughter houses, they could be processed "normally".
This group is fearless in confronting the fraud and deception of the Bush administration.

What I mean is that if you persist in:
**Denying health care to your constituency,
**Using up the entire remaining reserve of fossil fuels,
**Encouraging corporations to relocate more and more of their manufacturing facilities in other (predominately "3rd World") countries by giving them tax breaks and incentives to do so,
**Allowing pharmaceutical companies to dispense medications that kill people by not regulating the industry sufficiently,
**Looking the other way while noxious substances infiltrate the nation's food supply,
**Failing to protect the "greenbelt" which supplies the planet with oxygen,
and the thousand and one other elitist, jerrymandering acts of which this administration is guilty; pretty soon, all the "consumers" are either dead or so poor that there's no one left to pay outrageous prices for petroleum products or purchase medications or buy the goods churned out by factories and, eventually -- when the water, air and oceans are all polluted beyond repair -- even the corporate guys (or their posterity) even cease to exist...
So, the whole corporate corruption thing, if allowed to persist, ultimately "corrupts" itself right out of existence (along with everyone and everything else...)!
How can the same people who pride themselves on their ability to recognize "marketing trends" 10 or 20 or 30 years down the line -- these leaders of the business world -- NOT see the logical, eventual outcome to this course of action?
You hit the nail on the head...these idiots only see about 6 months ahead at any one time....We are all at the mercy of idiots who have no long term interests of us, or our planet! I think that is the description of the new conservative...and the new liberal looks at what they will be passing along to their children. Sure does not say much for conservatives. you would think conservation would be part of their agenda, and it is...conserving their own wealth! Not the planet!
