I have just deleted 2 of my political pieces from Gather.
The reason I took them down is because the discussion reached a very ugly point where people were hurling f words and accusing me of being on the side of Marxists and Shia extremists who rape people. This is simply not true. I simply believe we do not belong there and should not be there at all. If you feel that President Bush has done a good job as President by all means please someone come forward and make that case. If anyone feels that we are safer just because we have not been attacked please make your case. If you feel that the current administration has been totally truthful with the American people will someone please make that case.
If you are not disturbed by announcements from the Pentagon that if you bought your own body amour you can be reimbursed. If you think that the war in Iraq or Afghanistan has gone according to plan someone please let me know what the plan is and why.
In the meantime we should keep our discourse civil and try to stick to the facts.
As far as my writing I will also try to stay with the facts and not beat old dead stories.
That is all I have to say about it.

It took 5 years for Al Qaeda to plan 9/11. Bush was in office for 8months. Do the math, then answer your own question.

Regarding the war in Iraq, it was and is the right war for the right reasons, and soon so will the Iran war.
As soon as 9/11 happened I knew for a fact Saddams days where numbered. With his open defiance he helped flame, if not personally helped, those responsible for 9/11.
Also, in my opinion, Rumsfeld is doing a damn fine job.
Regarding the posts you deleted. Put them back, why delete something because others get excited about whatever it is that you wrote. That is also childish in my opinion. I mean, I don't agree with your views, but I strongly agree with your right to print, express and leave your views, to hell what others might think or say.

Did people ever argue like this over Pearl Harbor and blame the administration previous for Pearl Harbor? Yeesh?
For the rest of you, before you begin saying that I am ignorant, stupid, blah, blah, blah; perhaps you should read what I said. But then again, that would be intellectual honesty. Why care about what it actually said when you can just blindly take someone's word for it. After all I guess, "Ignorance is strength" and after all what we want is the ideological strength to persist in the face of multiple attacks from Big Oil, Dick Cheney, and Halliburton.

Of course no one blames Herbert Hoover for the Pearl Harbor because he was out of office for over seven years before it happened. When Hoover was in office Japan had no imperial aspirations into American holdings in the Pacific. At the time they were still occupied with their aggressive manuevers against China, and to a lesser extent, the USSR. Just trying to help you out. It was not until the failure of their Chinese offensives combined with the defeat at Nomohan that they began looking at American possessions.

Why did we go to war with the Army we had...because the Army we wanted was gutted for eight years by Clinton. Check the budget. Seems he also gutted the CIA ... check the budget.
If liberals are so concerned about humanity, then why do we have over 16,000 murders each year in the US? If Clinton was so great, then why didn't he solve the poverty issue, especially since he touted the budget excesses.
