I still can't get into my actual account. There must be some way to get that back. It really bugs me that my own original writing and photos, plus images of me, are published online on this site and I don't have access to my own stuff!
I've been asking for help for a full month. This is ridiculous.
The password recovery system doesn't work. No one answers messages sent to Gather Support, and I can't even get a reply comment or anything by writing an article and posting to the Gather Help Desk group!
I am beginning to feel as if my content has been stolen.
All I want is for someone to work with me on getting my password problem fixed so I can get back to using my Gather account as before.

I don't work for Gather, but perhaps I can assist you.
Have you remitted a Member Support form outlining the problem?
Also, what happens when you try password recovery? Why is it not working for you?
Are you certain that email from Gather isn't ending up in your junk mail?
I have submitted two member support forms, one a month ago, and a second one 2 weeks ago, but have received no reply.
You may want to add the three email addresses listed below to your email 'safe list' or to your email address book. Then try resetting your passward again.

promotions@gather.com
If this doesn't work, the problem may be related to the recent update. Your comments to Gather should get their attention though and get this resolved for you.

I am just glad to hear from someone on the Gather team. I am going into Gather withdrawal, LOL!
I hope Gather was able to resolve the problem for you today.
I am not sure why the password recovery system will not work for me, but since it worked for my mom and her gmail account but not me with my yahoo account I would guess that Gather's password recovery system isn't working with Yahoo email addresses.
I have wondered if Firefox might also be part of the problem, but I am afraid to use explorer with Gather again, because the last time I opened explorer (which I did when a new update made it so that for a time I couldn't post pics on Gather while using firefox) I got the virus that caused this problem in the first place and it took days to get rid of it. Needless to say, I am now quite leery of Explorer. O.o
My old account was set up so that I didn't get any email notices from Gather regarding my activities, only Gather's updates, etc. so I am not used to that. :P

I'm sorry that you still can't access your account. I would encourage you to send an email to Gather requesting a status update. Be certain to include any ticket or reference number in your message.

Wasn't Gather able to retrieve your account? What was the last response you had from them? ...and how long ago?

I've had nothing from them since... not an email, not a Gather message, and no more comments.
I would suggest that you send them an email following up on your original request (assuming you filled out a Member Support form).
