Thought~Bytes - No. 1
NOTE: Thought~Bytes are from a book I self-published some years ago called "Rolph's Thought~Bytes". The drawings are by Phil Frank, a well-known cartoonist in the San Francisco Chronicle ( "Farley") who also draws the nationally syndicated strip The Elderberries.
A few of these are old sayings I like, some are paraphrases, but 90% of them I wrote myself. They are intended to be evocative. "Rolph" is a play on the deep massage technique known as "rolphing." These are a meant as mental massages.
I'll post a few each week. I hope you find them interesting, amusing, thought provoking, conversation starters or just good refrigerator-posting material.

Thanks!
I subscribed to you but I'm not getting my eMail notices when you publish. Thanks for the eMail.
I did some cartoons a while back, most of which I can't publish on Gather.
Oh, Gather! Why are you such a tease!
As a humanist, I'd not agree with theme of this cartoon, ironic as it might be; however, for the point this cartoon makes, it does it well.
"As a humanist, I'd not agree with theme of this cartoon" not sure I understand that.
Seems I'm also occasionally missing eMail notices. DO you think they're on to us?
Mandi, Rolph only presents for you to ponder.
Genine, me too. afew years ago I taped about five hours of cartoons like Bugs Bunny and Road Runner. Now, before I watch a DVD or On Demand movies, I play a cartoon.
"Jean's always late on everything..."
Thought~Byte No. 2 should be posted today.
Interesting and thought provoking, yet sort of strange.
Hajo, "thought provoking" is meant to be the operative concept behind Thought~Bytes. One interpretation is that it is the ego that can hold us back and your options work too.
I just wanted to stop by since I am finally going through what is now listed as under 3,800 pieces of gather new mail that is sitting in my inbox on here.
With that mentioned I just came across either a mailing from you yourself, or someone else brought this piece to my attention. You or they felt that your creation should be shared with the gather community, which I am very glad that it was passed on to me to view. So I wanted to say Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to publish it here on gather for us to all view. :o)
As well before I leave you I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year... in 2009 :o)
