Layla
Merlin, is it true what they say?
Merlin
That I'm the most handsome cat in the world?
The smartest cat in the known universe? The...
Layla
No, not that. I'm talking about dogs being accepting into your group, Friends of Merlin.
Merlin
Oh, that. I don't want to talk about it.
Layla
Why not? There's nothing wrong with being an egalitarian, loving and accepting all creatures.
Merlin
I feel like puking.
Layla
Come on, we all know you're a bleeding heart liberal.
Merlin
Are you trying to ruin my reputation? Cats rule, dogs drool.
Layla
That doesn't sound very open minded. Stop that hissing!
Merlin
Alright, I know you're in the catbird seat but give me a break.
Layla
What do you mean?
Merlin
Don't play coy with me. That's my game. We both know you're the one with the can opener, the stash of catnip and the computer.
Layla
That's right and are you going to spill the beans now?
Merlin
Okay, listen up folks, this is the scoop and I don't mean the poop scoop ;-) As of today dogs, canines, bow wows of all persuasions are now welcome to join my group Friends of Merlin and even shudder, post their photos.
Layla
That's fantastic news! What about other animals? Birds, ferrets, hamsters, squirrels?
Merlin
Are you talking about dinner?
Layla
Or wild animals?Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Merlin
I give up. Yes, yes, yes, pics of all those critters are welcome too. Now about that catnip...

;-)
Joanne, I've joined your group and have posted the non-news ;-)
Nana thanks, an industrial sized catnip box is on order.
John, thank for the tip ;-)
Krista, hmmm, guy in a cat suit. That has possibilities!
Thai legend holds that Ni Tung Cha, a feline of the highest order, and member of the cat guardians that repelled invaders of the divine temple, and held tightly the temple's treasure, a golden chalice of Buddha, by his tail thus preventing its looting by the marauding hordes. The cat wrapped his tail so tightly around the treasured cup that the grip permanently kinked the end of his tail.
I would think even a modern day cat would defend his own temple...
wag wag wag wag wag wag
drooooooolllllllllllllll
That's fantastic news! What about other animals? Birds, ferrets, hamsters, squirrels?
Merlin
Are you talking about dinner?
ADD....Molly the pasha princess:
Dinner? I was thinking more along the lines of family entertainment...you know, they run, I pounce and the familys entertained! LOL
I suppose I could applaud your inclusiveness in these divided times ...
however, do take ample precaution ... for it is said:
one who lays down with dogs, likely to wake up with fleas ...
LOL , Susan
Travis, we all have our price.... some of us are cheaper than others ;-)
Mr. Bill, we will proceed with caution and industrial strength catnip.
As for Merlin - well suddenlly I'm reminded of how I felt when I heard Like a Rock used in a car commercial.
I can only hope that there is some covert, sinister aspect for this (as I look at it, anyway) well timed media stunt.
Only time will tell. I hope you have not made a terrible error in judgment oh most Magnificent of all Merlins.
Lol Shelley.
Welcome Angie, Peanut and Midnight.
Mugg, you should know by now there is always a method to my madness ;-)
Jean, don't flatter Merlin too much. Next thing you'll know, he'll be angling for the feline equivalent of humanitarian of the year award!
Great news that you're welcoming the bow-wows! I have two of those doggie animals in my household, and I have fun tormenting them and running around and hiding in all those neat places they can't get in.....meow. Now we can tease them...oops play with them together.
Dawn, I really do have a kink and look forward to seeing your bow-wows!
Special thanks to Jacqueline. You're the only one who appreciated my humorous "screenplay" technique.
Wishing You Laughter
Loved the interview with Merlin. I think you should do more of those in future.
His magnificence also wanted to tell you that if any dog misbehaves, it'll be the permanent doghouse for him.
Whiskers will probably get his wish ;-)
