
Congratulations to everyone who entered the Short-Form Writing Competition for the month of August! We again received hundreds of compelling entries from authors all vying for the chance to be published by Amazon Shorts. With hundreds of stories and thousands of votes, the buzz for this contest is growing on Gather and in the literary world. Now that the official submission period for the August contest has ended, all entries received from today until September 30 will be considered for the September contest period.
Remember though, there are still August stories posted that need to be read. Voting on the final batch of August stories doesn't end until September 15th.
Just to refresh your memory, the August/September contest calendar is as follows:
- August 31: Last day for August contest period submissions
- September 1: Official start of September contest period
- September 15: Voting ends for final entries for August contest period
- September 22: Winners are announced for August contest period
- September 30: Last day for September contest period submissions
Even if you have already entered, you can continue to participate. New entries are being posted every day, which means fresh new writing for your eyes. We encourage you to continue reading, rating, and commenting on these pieces!

If you are already published and sold on Amazon.com (I have two books), does your short have to go through this process anyway?

I'm not sure you can change a vote, so be VERY careful.
If you're already published on Amazon (traditionaly, not POD or Vanity) then you can submit directly to the Amazon Shorts program (you can still submit a story here too, so long as it is previously unpublished)
If every time someone comments on my article and I respond am I voting for myself?
Is this correct?, and is this not cheating?
