C-reactive protein blood test indicated I have a high inflammation in my body which can cause problems such as heart disease (most of you know I have 6 stents in my heart) diabetes, obesity, and numerous other diseases. A diet rich in Omega 3 can help combat the inflammation. I'll be writing more about this situation in a later article.
Wealth:
You may have discounts available to you that you don't know about. If you belong to AAA, or Affinity groups such as Rotary, Kiwanis, American Legion, etc, you may get discounts on various products. Check out www.dealmine.com for lists of discounts in numerous areas.
Diet:
A recent study revealed that adding chili peppers to food helps change the body's composition from fat to lean. The capsicum in chilies gets immature fat cells to self-destruct.
Exercise:
I recently bought a small re-bounder trampoline and I'm amazed at the ease and intensity of my workout. It is much easier on my joints than walking on hard ground, and I find myself increasing my speed quickly. I feel I have a excellent aerobic workout in less time and with less stress on my legs and joints.
Beauty:
Have you tried the mineral based makeup yet? I have and love it. I've read that it enhances your natural beauty at the same time it is improving the condition of your skin. Natural minerals provide rich colors that help protect your skin and give you a luminous glow. Supposedly it is better for your skin than no makeup at all.
Spiritual
Say a prayer and/or send positive, uplifting thoughts to someone in need. Sending a cheery card or note will lift their spirits as well as your own.

Medically proven
Bouncing on a mini-trampoline rebounder is recognized by NASA and recommended worldwide by medical and health professionals. Combining the forces of gravity, acceleration, and deceleration, rebounding is scientifically proven to increase cardio and respiratory fitness. It actually clears your system of toxins, viruses, and cell debris, plus boosts the function of T-helper cells, which help fight off disease.

Makes for interesting reading.
I enjoyed these as usual.
If that's the case, how do you explain all the fat Mexicans? (Don't flame me now, you've seen 'em too!)
Most real Mexican food is rather bland, beans and rice, tortillas and other things, but the heat isn't IN the food, the heat is on the side to be added if you want. I have known many that don't care for the American version of their dishes because of this heat IN the food paradigm. Stereotyping is never a good bet, by the way.
I had a mini trampoline, but had to give it away due to arthritic knees...not to mention the possibility of soggy sneakers! Check with your own doctor before trying it.

I've been thinking about the mineral makeup, but can't decide which ones to go with, which brand do you decide on?
Chili peppers...is that a particular type of peppers, different then Jalapenos?
Thanks for the nudge to send a cheery card, been meaning to write some loved ones for over a couple of weeks now, but keep putting it off.
Hope you get your body back on track with the Omega 3.
I like trampolines though - I think I could enjoy walking / jogging on a bouncer...
Thanks for another great Tips 4 U Mary
Thanks for the great tips, Mary. Soon I'll be totally mature.
(Funny, Bill)
I've been a chile-head for years and haven't seen any noticeable fat loss on my body. I just had 2 small green chiles (Indian chiles) minced on top of the chili and all it did was make my tongue tingle. I just adore chiles and eat them on almost everything. maybe that is what is keeping me from gaining too much weight. I should be arrested for the way I eat baked goods!
Thanks for all the tips.
Hi Mary,
Not sure about this blood test. Who told you of this test and that it's a cause for inflamation? And what is the test called? Whould it be on the regular CBC, or Metabolic blood work up. Thanks in advance.

Inflammation, Heart Disease and Stroke
It has a lot of details. I really don't remember where or how I learned about it but I actually requested that my cardiologist include it in the regular cholesterol blood test. I asked for that and the homosystein level to be tested also, and we learned neither were good in my situation so I'm now on prescription strength folic acid. For the inflammation, I'm researching anti inflammatory foods that aggravate it and those that heal it. I'll be writing about that next week.

The Return of Aesop for Today February 28
I've been working out with a horrid little personal trainer that has me on the Stairmaster for 30 minutes and doing crunches and other painful things on the big beach ball thingy. He laughes because I'm so out of shape and my legs need strengthening.
The beauty and diet tips sound wonderful. I was wondering about that makeup. Thanks for answering my question!
I've been 'googling' to find anti inflammatory foods plus foods to avoid that increase the inflammation. Almost everywhere I go, it's the same thing. Fresh fruits and veggies, legumes, and fiber along with low fat.
I now start my day with non fat plain yogurt to which I add blueberries, walnuts/almonds/ground flax seed and a bit of OJ and some lite Cranberry Juice. It's very tasty and HEALTHY.
Mid morning, a 4oz serving of vegetable juice spiked with hot sauce and a couple of grapes or low fat cheese.
Lunch is almost always tuna or salmon and mixed greens or leftovers from dinner.
Afternoon snack--high fiber crackers (pepper/garlic or basil/tomato) and salsa
Dinner is almost always chicken, fish or lean beef (rarely) with salad and a green vegetable. Now and then I splurge and have a corn muffin or biscuit but not often. I find the fewer baked goods I eat the better.
I do cheat especially if around baked goods when I'm babysitting. I try not to but, you know the ole adage, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
I have had a chronic illness for some decades and understand
the inflamation and the dietary stuff.
Wishing you well
Christina
