Greetings Folks! My book signing is tomorrow, Sunday, December 7th, at Cominichi's here in Santa Barbara. My latest book is my fifth book about Louisiana. (www.bayoutales.com ) Ms. Shannon of the Independent Newspaper interviewed me recently. She has a really good ear.
I would add, however, that I did spend a great deal of my youth attending services at the Methodist Church. Also, Sunday School, MYF and Rainbow Girls, were all part of my socio-religious activities. I still have the same friends that I met at Vacation Bible School when I was a little kid. My mother no longer attended Catholic Church services but she said God was inside of her heart and her front porch was her church. Of course, mama's spirituality combined with my dad's old fashioned Do Unto Others advice, made for a balanced upbringing. I was blessed.

Gather always offers me such pleasant surprises. To find out that you are a much published author of these regional tales and images, as well as the fact that you and I started college in California at the same time (I went to Pomona College from 1976--80, and my roommate my senior year, Brian Maddox, attended UCSB during the same time as yourself) pleases me to no end.
