Mariana Titus grew up in Franklin, Louisiana. For the past twenty five years she has photographed her surroundings and recorded colorful stories of the bayou people. Her five books take the reader on a tour through swamps, bayou bars, ancient graveyards, oil fields, sugar cane fields and churches. As you read chapters such as 'If I Can Catch It, I Can Cook It' and 'Love is Better than Rabbit Spaghetti,' you will experience the southwestern Louisiana lifestyle, laugh and cry at the stories, enjoy a fais-do-do, eat Cajun food and experience music from swamp pop to spirituals.

Mariana's latest book, Sunday Mornings, Crowning Glories, brings you inside some of the churches around her hometown. You will meet their inspiring pastors, see the beautifully dressed women of the congregation and listen to gospel music sung in a church or on a country porch.

Bhawana, my books are very local Louisiana but I thought it would be fun to have a signing at my friend's store! But, you never know - I used to go to L.A. every weekend for museums and the arts! So much fun - good to see you!!!

Roy, I am glad you asked! I am serving wine and food but I need food ideas - you know finger foods with a cajun twist - any and all ideas would be appreciated!

Great news, don't count me out. You may look up and see me in the crowd. Also, do not sell your book Sunday Morning Crowning Glories. It has a lot of national appeal. My wife calls them the hat ladies and look forward to seeing them on Sunday morning. This book is of interest to many people in this country. God Bless your efforts.

Congratulations Mariana. Oh, I would love to be there for the book signing. Hope you have a wonderful time, and get to meet some very interesting people. If not, they'll meet you so somone is going meet someone interesting. This is great. Take lots of pictures and have a lot of fun and then tell us all about it. Can't wait.

I think one of my favorite things is to listen to people talk about their area and childhood, or what it was like back when. Listening to my grandmother talk about Middletown KY and growing up and all the changes over time. That is the part of history that is the best to me. your books sound wonderful!

As always, another excellent share. I do want to see what these books have to offer. Even though I am from the area, and I have experienced many of the same things you have, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I would love to see these things through your eyes.
Maybe if I see em through your eyes I will see the world as a different place.

Bhawana - just this Sunday Dec 7th from 12 - 4 but we'll meet in the next year, hopefully! So much going on this time of year but right now dealing with many fire related things and yes, my book signing as well as sending books out! We leave from here on Dec. 18th so time is closing in on us. Salud
