The husband is happy that I'm finally home. He's cooking. One of the dishes he loves to make is fettucini of sorts. I think he calls it spaghetti al pesto. He loves to saute' mushrooms and green peppers and then add noodles. Oh yes, somewhere in there are some garlics and onions. This is a simple dish served with a salad and garlic bread. He's watching a show about meterorites and drinking Steinlager beer. We're certainly in no hurry to eat. I'm sipping a glass of merlot.
It's a relaxing Sunday. The fire is roaring. My new cat DooTee is running around outside. The two labs are asleep in the hall. Joey, the deaf cat, is on the sofa behind me. Beanie is inside the Baby Grand. It's Sunday and that's what's cooking at our little home. How about you? What's cooking today? Thank you. Salud.

Have a great night!
hope your favorite driver wins NASCAR
Thanks Priscilla - sounds delicious.
I love potato salad - who do you think will win?
Thank you Cyndi - you're so sweet.
Madame Donna - I still want to know what you'll be eating!
Bob - enjoy that meat loaf. Salud folks thanks.
Teresa, oh I love salsa - good for you - what kind of peppers?
Ok Madame Donna - you better not forget! Thank you. Salud.
I cleaned out the fridge of 4-5 leftover meals that were great when first served. If any of it is still good, I'll create some new dish for this week. No one will ever know they are getting recycled food. Doesn't sound too appetising in print but I promise it will be good -- whatever it is.
Here is my dinner report: A lovely fresh field green salad with a fresh bleu cheese dressing and garlic bread followed by an entree of a massive amount of pasta swimming in a delectable spicy red sauce with clams, mussels and shrimp.
I did not indulge in the lemon marscapone cheesecake or the spumoni chocolate layer cake or some other dessert that was over the top because I was so sated I could barely move. Whew. Now I've unbuttoned my waistband and I'm grinning from ear to ear.
Rob...vodka and sugar-free grape koolaide? Send the boy some orange juice!
When I got home, my son and I made chex mix. My daughter is scarfing a bowl of it right now. There is no school tomorrow.
I love pesto and sometimes add to the store bought pesto with more basil, olive oil and paremesan, and freshly pressed garlic...I love pasta and am enjoying whole wheat pasta. However, I have been exercising and dieting in 2007 and continuing through 2008 - so I just don't eat much of the carbs, sugars, sweets or fats.
Now, onto a couple of oranges and then to some exercise.
Ooops, it is already Monday morning so I missed the evening call. Sounds as if you're settled in and enjoying the good life. Give Doo-Tee a hug from the ole Colonel.
Cheers,
Colonel Possum
I haven't decided yet what I am making for tonight.
On Sunday, I worked in the morning. My husband decided to invite the neighbor over for what he called Cabernet Fall Sunday. He opened up some wonderful bottles of wine. I made a cottage cheese dip, sour cream and onion dip, carrots to dip, crackers and cheese, and guacamole with blue corn chips. So that was what we had to eat with the wine.
You are lucky your husband likes to get creative when he cooks.
(ps - god its good to have you back. i've so missed these snippets of your life, love.)
Not much of anything else going on here, just the same ole, same ole.
Talk to you later, thanks for stopping by my images/articles!
And today...I've earned it! Happy Cooking you all!
I worked on Sunday so didn't even eat at home. I don't like to cook at all. Wish I had a husband around to fix meals; that would be awesome!
