My Chihuahua, Loquita, believes that her life has improved since the Colonel joined Gather earlier this year. She spends a lot of time in my lap when I'm logged on and from a dog's point of view that's a good thing. When the computer is turned off at night, she goes nuts and barks at a decibel level that has given Chihuahua's a fairly small fan base in the general population. The key signal for her is the Bill Gate's music when Windows 2000 goes into hibernation. Loquita must wait until the morning computer music heralds breakfast followed by a resumption of lap time.
I think this is extra special for her since she must compete for attention with my much larger dogs, Henry and Charley. A full-grown lab doesn't fit on a lap very well and she knows that. The more time the Colonel spends on Gather, the more quality time for her!
Now before Gather, I spent a fair amount of time on the computer gambling away my retirement savings at the big stock market casino. This was lap time with mood swings. Loquita knows that the chance for mid-day treats is much better when the Colonel is happy. She has noted that time on Gather results in this blissful state since Gather is generally a positive environment with nice folks and dad doesn't lose money. What could be better?
Cheers,
Colonel Possum

Life's little wonders are great aren't they. Rocking chairs too!
They sure are! Bless our little friends that really expect so little from us. Rock On (on the rocker).

Chihuahuas (and mine is a mix, a big 12 pounds) have that way of getting into your heart. Pre-Loquita, I was not a fan of these little dogs; now she sleeps with me! Thank you for your thoughts.

Babayaga...what a wonderful name for a cat!!! Joey, my deaf cat, likes to lay on the monitor and chases the little mouse arround the screen with his paw. Loquita is jealous of Joey.
Thank you for sharing pet stories,
Colonel Possum
Thank you. And I thank the good spirits everyday. Life is pretty slow and easy at the OHC.

Oh I love that big Smokey! Give that good girl a few pats on the head..or better yet skritches (funny, we call them skrunchies here at the OHC). Henry is kind of like that, a big ole bear and you don't mess with bears! Smokey sounds like a much better listener. Henry the Bear once told me that we could have much better conversations if I had a more developed sense of smell.

Hummer is a great name, probably will grow up to be as tough as the vehicle by the same name! Hope he stops leaking, might need a new oil pan gasket. Thank you.

I don't know what the backside of the mix is: rat terrier? I do know that Loquita can go from zero to sixty in about 5 seconds which I think far exceeds the pure Chihuahua. She also doesn't tremble and takes no prisoners. Even though she's a little girl, Loquita lifts her leg with the big male labs. They are all black and I bought her a red collar so she could be a "pygmy black lab."

Oh my goodness, I can see it! What great cat names: Zoe, Gizmo and Booger! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that has animals draped on and around the computer like kinetic ornaments on a Christmas tree!!!

well, to me it looks like a big chihuahua - maybe it the angle of her face that might confuse folks - do you have other shots? Salud,
Yup! Maybe they need to see her underbite and pointy ears. Thanks for the tip. She looks a little bummed in this picture because the chair is "lapless."

...did I mention that she is the alpha dog of this pack?

I can't imagine, I hope you didn't sustain any permanent tendon injuries. A Lab/Greyhound - what's that...fun & fast?
Give Woody a treat from the ole Colonel!

This is now the Featured Article in Unoffical Gatherholics.
Thank you. I'm excited about Gatherholics...I think I finally got it! Funny, Loquita figured it out long ago...

I'll go and look in the OHC Photographic Archive Vault in the underground bunker. Thanks!

Just stumbled on your page today and like it a lot. Wish there were more hippies around.
Thank you! I think I better leave them on the floor, I'd have to both on my lap or they'd be jealous and I think my chair would break.
Please join the Old Hippie's Corner if you'd like. There's a bunch of us still kicking around!

Whoa! That that's a cool mix, what happens on the full moon? Yeah my guys get their outdoor time or the barking begins! They are out under the big tree right now taking their 8-hour nap (ha!). Thank you.

Wow! Lots of lab folks today, cool! Isn't it funny how they have so many cues throughout a human day. Thank you.

What a great combination. Loquita has two black labs to contend with but holds her own. Yorkies are cute!
