Guzzling and Griping on Gather

Yesterday evening, I checked the local weather report.  I knew it was going to rain this morning.  I planned to sleep late.  That is why I could relax, uncork a bottle of the red and enjoy myself.  Last night, I had a heck of a time on here. I read a few of the articles griping about this and that and a few really good short quips and some poetry.  I found an article talking about beauty and brains and had fun reading all the many arguments. I sipped a bit and left a couple of comments.  I can barely remember what I said and am hoping they made sense.  

Then I decided it would be best if I logged off around midnight.  Unfortunately, someone else wrote another beauty and brains article.  I stayed up until 2:00 and read all those comments and had to add fuel to that fire with more comments.  A couple of folks racked up the points last night.  All I got from it was a hangover. 

My friend from down the Bayou called me at 7:30 to tell me she'd just got back from Houston.  After that, I heard the cats scratching the screen door.  Once I wake up, I can't get back to sleep.  I can't resist drinking my coffee on the front porch on a cool rainy morning.

I just wanted to leave this suggestion behind.  If you're going to write a good controversial piece or gripe about something, do it late in the evening.  I can't remember who my drinking companions were but we must have left four comments each.
