I'm drinking coffee this morning. Is there anything more wonderful than that first cup? I wanted to take the time today to thank all the folks on Gather who have been so very kind and nice to me. I don't know if I'm still considered a "newby" but I've been here a total of 19 days today. I signed up on May 10th and posted some images. I honestly did not know what to write. I just looked around. I observed and noticed that the people who were getting the most comments were the ones putting out the most articles. These articles were so varied. I loved the little short ones but when I had time I enjoyed reading the longer stories. On May 12th, I put out my first article. I can't remember what it was but was thrilled to get five comments! I tried to make decent comments about the articles and the images. I also loved it when folks took the time and effort to write long comments about what I wrote. Several days, maybe a week or so ago, I learned about the Home page where miraculously I landed in the top ten! All I did was write about stuff that came off the top of my square head. Ok, I learned about competition and also realized how addictive this could be. I'm also learning about groups and other things but it's all good. I'm so glad that there is a place like this to rant, rave, rite <---even mispell!
I don't know what the summer holds for me. I will be going to another location for several months. I'm hoping that I'll have the time to get on Gather and read all the good articles and interact again. This has been a fabulous experience and has opened many doors for me. I turned 57 on May 9th and joined Gather on May 10th, so it's all been part of a big learning experience! Now, I'll shut up and let you go read some Real Writing! Thanks Yall!

Happy Belated Birthday to a young and beautiful soul! WOW your still young and the thing is writing is something you do well and it is something that happens at times when we least expect it.
I know that just woke up one night in the middle of the night and started writing about what was in my dream and it started about six years ago and have not stopped.
It is amazing how I hated reading and writing and here I am a writer and poet doing what I had no idea I was going to do at any point in my life.
I welcome you to Gather.com and I enjoy your personality in your words.
Excellent heart you have and I look forward to your future writings.
Just be yourself and ignore all the bad that could happen in here and move on only to the good, it is the best way to ignore the trolls that happen to come in.
The other thing is, some of us may say things to help you improve your craft and yet some have taken it wrongly and are offended by it so I usually see them as closed minded and unwilling to accept any help from anyone so I hope you are like me and take it or leave it.
I am glad you are here and look forward to see what your heart writes next:)Please write your hearts desires or your souls wishes and let us see what light burns deep within your creative spirit.
