"Conservative protesters chanting “Kill that bill!” stormed the Capitol on Thursday as Republicans launched a last-ditch effort against the Democrats’ healthcare bill.
The protesters from around the country entered House office buildings after attending the “House Call” rally on healthcare, largely the brainchild of Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.)."

“If I’m a Democrat, I’m watching what happened today on those Capitol steps,” Kingston said. “I’m gonna be really careful before I throw my career away in one vote, which is going to happen for many members on Saturday.”
Angst over the vote may have intensified with victories by Republican gubernatorial candidates in Virginia and New Jersey on Tuesday."
“I think it’s a great exercise in democracy, but it isn’t going to make a damn bit of difference at this point,” Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) told The Hill in an interview."
“Thank you all for being here; thank you all for coming; keep it up!” Rep. John Campbell (R-Calif.) told the line of visitors waiting to enter the Longworth House Office Building.
Campbell then started a rousing chorus of “Kill the bill!”
"Protesters crowding an incoming Orange Line Metro train Thursday told The Hill that buses were coming from Atlanta and Virginia Beach and that protest groups were arriving from Chicago and as far away as Seattle.
Brothers Scott and Dean Brown of Northern Virginia said that they hoped the effort would be a “wakeup call” to legislators, particularly in terms of 2010 vulnerability." Read more here.

But hundreds of millions didn't. You guys are confused. Just because you scream the loudest, doesn't mean everyone supports you. In fact the ''majority'' don't. Now if the next election, the majority, don't want this direction any more, they can vote Obama out?? If you can.
If that were true, the bill would have been passed before the August recess dipshit.
By the way, you're wrong: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcare/september_2009/health_care_reform
And Jeff, dipshit, it doesn't matter ''when'' the bill passes. Just that it passes.
Linda, I thought I told you before, my moniker is a ''tribute'' to a right wing idiot that ''forgot'' that he didn't get his doctorate, and then called me stupid.
Marilyn, even Faux Mews would not make such a claim! Put down the Kool-Aid.
And? They work for their pay and they can certainly spend it or keep it or burn it up if they so please.
Class Envy. Covetous. Jealous.
This attitude, propigating it ... why would we even put theives in jail anymore now that covetous behavior and actions in regard to that covetousness and envy has become the current state of the union from the top down?
I mean why have the middle man (government) at all? Just stop prosecuting theivary and you get the same results as all these Redistribution of wealth laws and bills but without the rise in taxes.
Pshaw ... hrmpf!
And we might even save tax money since we wouldn't be housing robbers and thieves anymore .... just give em titles as Redistributive Czars.
And if the ''people'' decide to pay them less, it's called capitalism. Are you against that??? I ''work'' for my pay too. I own a small business. I'm going to benefit from Obama's tax plan. BTW I would have liked much better if Obama had given every home owner a big check to stimulate the economy. I would have paid my mortgage with it, and the banks would have it to lend out anyway. But then you righties would have said ''he's giving handout to the poor''. But the way he did it, seem to be working. I'll give him more time!!
''Redistribution of wealth laws and bills but without the rise in taxes. ''
Why is it you righties have ''no'' problem with redistribution of wealth when the rich are taking from the poor, but, oh hell no, we can't have those lousy poor people stealing from the rich. The only thing I can come up with is that, you are the ones ''with'' the money, or just ''not'' bright enough to know, it's not you that has it.
''Just stop prosecuting theivary''
Lee are you saying Obama is breaking the law. Which one (s). Specifics?? I thought you righties were always for the rule of law, What's up with that???
No. I'm saying he is advocating theivery. Redistribution from those who earned it either by their own sweat or by their ideas and expertise of implementation, to those who didn't earn it --- is just like how a thief would describe what he does for a living.
Employers who own a business, who may have done the 20 years of 18 hour days to grow that business who pay employees what they can afford and who might get a new car every year, and who might have a 5 week vacation every three months .... or who might spend their own money in any number of ways or stuff it into their mattresses or burn it, have a perfect right to do that without having to cow tow to employees or others who envy and covet what isn't theirs.
That employer is not redistributing wealth from the poor to himself - he created the wealth and by employing people to work in his business he has already redistributed the wealth to the poor as much as he should be expected to.
Sooooo..... when you or I or anyone who is not the business owner says things like you said about the doctors and their hummers .... well that's just jealousy and any attempt to take or agitate others to take what you view as their extra or unjustified earnings or toys has traditionally been called theivery.
You are absolutely right. As long as he is taking care of the people that are ''keeping'' him in that position. If he is greedy and paying his employees substandard wages, because he can, then the government needs to step in to help those people receive wages commensurate with the importance of their standing in the business. ''WITHOUT THE WORKER, THE OWNER WOULD HAVE NOTHING''
''to take what you view as their extra or unjustified earnings or toys has traditionally been called theivery. ''
So what's it called when someone wants to use (social programs), what other people pay for (taxes), but not contribute themselves. Thievery??
When the president takes my taxes from me for the express purpose of giving it out as Obama money, that is most definitely stealing.
When an institution or my very own seat of government decides to take more and more of my wages as donations to the poor ... when they decide where my charity is placed rather than me deciding where to make my charitable giving .... that is most definitely stealing.
Dr. dummy (I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid) B. Nov 7, 2009, 1:32pm EST
Oh, you still haven't told me why it's ok for the rich to steal from the poor, but not visa versa?? Why not??
Dr. dummy (I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid) B. Nov 6, 2009, 6:30pm EST
Really Marilyn. And what did the doctors say they would do for a living. Will they all become nurses or teach. Maybe research. Why will they leave. Greed!! ''If I can't make 1mil a year, I'll take my toys and go home!!!!'' I know doctors like that. Greed!!! New Hummer ever year, and a new car too!!!
Then why do people let it happen, every day in America. When the rich ''take'' from the middle class and poor, through obscene profits, inferior products, and false advertising, they call it capitalism. But when the middle class and poor get something back, it's called ''thievery'', and a handout?? How many of those SOB's that sacked America's wealth is sitting in prison right now?? A handful of them?? What are the rest of them doing. Planning to steal the rest of this countries wealth. So why do you righties only scream when the ''poor'' is ''stealing'' from the ''rich''?
But seriously, the recording .... he was just the messenger. He didn't record it or ask the questions or give the revealing answers. +shrug+
And here is another seems like from the same day same line of people --- one man describes the action like this: "This is bad right here it's like 3 or 4 welfare offices mixed into one ..."
Dr. dummy (I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid) B. Nov 9, 2009, 6:49pm EST
Jebus, Lee. I thought I was debating with a rational person. Posting anything from ru$h limbaught, looses all credibility with me!!!! :D :D :D
Oh, that figure reads: Three hundred seven Million!
Now go home and masturbate to rush/beck fox and get some rest.
Tomorrow is another day for you to piss and moan about bs some more.
We won end of story.
Don, It's only a temporary victory and still does not give anyone the right to change our govrnment. Obama got it because he promised to get rid of Bush's anti American programs, or so people thought. When is he going to do it?
Col. George,
They get more uncivil as the frustration sets in, as they realize that their chosen ones are going to be ousted by the rest of us in the U.S. they resort to personal attacks.
This coupled with the election results from Tuesday should make some members of Congress feel quite uneasy.
and of course your Messiah Glenn Beck was in the hospital.
And prayers go with him - appendicitis is no fun and can strike sometimes without warning (or because we think the symptoms are something else)
No one ever called Beck a messiah. On the other hand, Farrakhan (a good friend of Obama's 20 year pastor) did refer to Obama as the Messiah.
The only members of Congress who should be queasy are the Republicans who are going to be challenged by the crazy people just like in upstate New York! LOL
I know what you mean. But from my perspective it was totally crazy for the RNC to field a Democrat as a Repub candidate. And I agree these crazy kinds of 'repubs' will probably be having a much harder time in future.
Spartan * Nov 6, 2009, 1:06am EST
Not a chance, killer. It got blown out by what happened in Texas...and of course your Messiah Glenn Beck was in the hospital. The only members of Congress who should be queasy are the Republicans who are going to be challenged by the crazy people just like in upstate New York! LOL
And, PLEASE do save my response to Dale. We are all waiting with hushed anticipation to hear from "the powers that be"! We certainly don't want any dissent on this report of the ALL WHITE PROTEST!
Marilyn M. Nov 6, 2009, 11:19am EST
Beck didn't call for these protests.
Too bad the Queen's little tea party was usurped by a shooting in a Texas Army Fort. All the news stations, including FOX went to Texas and ignored her. I'd say she lost BIG TIME.
Obviously, you weren't :>)
Try more than doubling that number.........
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29183.html
.
From the article: The Tea Party holds no seat in Congress, but at least 10,000 of the party’s members descended on Capitol Hill Thursday to rally against a Democratic-written health care overhaul.
The Tea Party . . . mmmm ... lol
''The One & Only BERF" .. Nov 6, 2009, 12:23am EST
"Actually, it was more like 4,000, but then who's counting?"
Obviously, you weren't :>)
Try more than doubling that number.........
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29183.html
All because you see 4000, does not mean that is all there are, many could not make it, yet helped in some way to support these operations.
If we look at where the hate is coming from, it is not those supporting what this article says, but those apposing it.
It was the 60th from the top.........
"I don't like to do this, Lee, but based on Spartan's comment to me (above) and my limited options in getting this to the attention of Gather, Inc (at least from what I'm aware of), I'm going to flag your most excellent post. Just wanted you to know.
Dale"
It is sad that we cannot have intelligent debates with these people.
It helps our argument too well
Besides a true nazi would have gunned you all down in the street.
You have been marginalized for a year now and still can't admit it.
One year and eleven to go.
This is a sham, the proverbial straw man. Those organizing and spurring these idiots on know it. You shouldn't fall for the lies or spread them by posting here on Gather.
"Health care reform should not be used as an opportunity to use federal funds to pay for elective abortions. Health reform should be an opportunity to protect human life - not end it.
Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi’s 2,032-page government takeover of health care does just that. On line 17, p. 110, section 222 under “Abortions for which Public Funding is Allowed” the Health and Human Services Secretary is given the authority to determine when abortion is allowed under the government-run plan. The Speaker’s plan also requires that at least one insurance plan offered in the Exchange covers abortions.
What is even more alarming is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged of all enrollees in the government-run plan. It’s right there on line 16, page 96, section 213, under “Insurance Rating Rules.” The premium will be paid into a U.S. Treasury account - and these federal funds will be used to pay for the abortion services."
(from: http://republicanleader.house.gov/blog/?p=666 - the original page has the hyperlinks so you can read the bill itself)
Republicans lost 8 out of 10 of the house elections.
Here real all about it from a convervative site:

Dr. the lesson of 23 is the repubs should field a repub instead of a democrat in all future elections. Or they will be challenged.
In 23 whether Owens or Scozzwhatever had won it would have still been a lib win. This way at least we actually know his true affiliation.
There is no "lesson" here for us. Owens and Scozza are interchangeable as far as how they vote, Scozza could fill in for Owens for months at a time and no one would notice any difference if they only looked at the voting record.
So, as far a conservatives are concerned ... for me anyway ... it wasn't a loss that could have been avoided (it would have been loss even if Scozza had won) so we might as well have backed the Conservative.
And Hoffman, the Conservative, did very well. That's the warning shot not the death knell.
Dr. dummy (I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid) B. Nov 6, 2009, 7:34am EST
Neither can NY 23rd.
Dale Coparanis Nov 6, 2009, 7:36am EST
The lesson from NY 23 is for the GOP to have primaries rather than party bosses decide who will be the party standard bearer in a particular election.
This is the part that I love. She was a republlican, but to the returdabots, she was a democrap. She didn't tow the ''CONservative'' line, so she's not welcome in the ''big tent'' Now that's the way to win over people to their party. Exclude rational people. Who has that been working for you guys??? :)
As I said before ....Scozza could fill in for Owens for months at a time and no one would notice any difference if they only looked at Owen's voting record; and vice versa - Owens could secretly fill in for Scozza (if she had won) and no one would notice anything different in the voting record.
Scozza/Owens same same. No difference at all except in name. Thus ... Republican In Name Only - RINO.
Yes, issues matter. The platform matters else why have two parties in the first place if they are both going to field candidates who stand for exactly the same things?
That is the path to the death of the Repub party - moving ever and ever closer to what dems/libs stand for until Repubs stand for only what the libs stand for. Silly. Just let those who stand for what Dems/Libs stand for be Libs and let those who actually stand for what Repubs say they stand for be Repubs.
Dr. dummy (I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid) B. Nov 7, 2009, 8:48am EST

Why is that?
Is that because they are there and just not noticed? Or what?
People like you, Richard, think that all conservatives are white and expect them to be and then harass people of color who are conservatives. How racist is that?
Not ''all'' are white. Just 98 %.
Dale
Did you morons bitch about bu$h when he tried to get rid of Helen Thomas. Her crime, embarrassing bu$h with a tough question. No?? Michele Bachmann Tea Party Rally - An Honest Man's Perspective
Not bad for something that was organized in three days.
I often get bashed for being a "right-wing whacko", which precludes my continuing dialogue with members of the left.
I am all for healthcare reform...absolutely, completely, and 100%.
What I vehemently oppose is this 2K page behemoth that Pelosi is pushing. It's an incredible power grab, and will not survive a single challenge in the SCOTUS.
I say hit the reset button, let's BOTH sides sit down together and work on something that makes sense.
Either that or scrap the entire idea.
Check the videos and pics here.
One of the videos can also be seen here.
I just love it when the ever open minded and tolerant liberals show how closed minded and intolerant they are.
Elsie C. Nov 6, 2009, 10:37am EST
So I said, way up at the top, how can a senator confuse the Declaration of Independence with the Constitution? Guess no one noticed. Guess no one knows the difference. Guess it doesn't matter that a Republican Senator is an idiot as long as he supports the Queen and goes to her little tea party.
But yes, the way you describe it it certainly could have been a slip of the tongue.
For example, you'd think I'd know my own children by now but I still slip sometimes and call one the other's name. You can't get more slip of the tongue than that and I am certain I have not really confused one child for the other even though I misspeak their names.
And I am not even up in front of thousands of people while trying to say their names. It could even have been a typo. I've mistyped lots of things ... even once mistyped Constitution when I meant Declaration (or was it the other way around) .... however, I knew what I was thinking and knew which document I meant but my fingers had a life of their own.
In any case it does sound a little nit picky . . .
Btw, in my above comment it should not read "either of those documents is as big ..." It should read "neither of those documents is as big .."
Elsie C. Nov 6, 2009, 8:35pm EST
Guess you didn't get to see the speech. I'll be happy to review it for you. Not only did he bring a copy of the Constitution to wave at the audience, he also read from a prepared statement the Declaration of Independence which he erroneously called the Constitution. It was hardly a slip of the tongue. Sorry.
Come on now. You guys know if that were Obama that said what boner said, you'd be all over here calling him an idiot, saying he was illiterate, and how stupid he was for a Constitutional lawyer. And any of you who say you wouldn't, are lying to yourself, because I wouldn't believe you!!!
Who made a mistake Marilyn?? Because ''you'' are a Christian, Obama sure as hell ''can't be one ? Why, because of his name, or his skin color?? If Obama says he is a Christian, then I believe him. BTW that's a real ''Christian'' way to think about other Christians!!!
TOMORROW! Right now…President Obama is making a last-ditch effort to personally sway over some “Blue Dog Democrats” to help insure the passage of this landmark, infamous legislation. The Wall Street Journal calls it the “worst ever” bill.
Good. Finally someone will put the fascists corporations in their place.
Yes I do. The republibots ones don't support it. Seem to me, if the AMA (American ''Medical'' Association) endorses the bill, maybe ''more'' believe in it, than don't!!! But to you, if ''your'' doctor doesn't support it, then none of them do!! Sorry it don't work like the in the real world!!!
The AMA is like a lot of corporations - and like many unions. Those at the top do as they please with the dues and dollars of those at the bottom even if those among the ranks disagree with those at the top. +shrug+
