My husband is way overdue for a promotion, but it seems none of his supervisors know how good he is. The problem is because of the frequent rotation in the military. My husband would be doing so great at one station and then right before his evaluation time, a new supervisor came on board and had no idea what he had done. Or he would be transferred to a new station right before his evaluation and he had not had any chance to impress the new supervisors. Then of course, once his evaluation time came up next year, a new supervisor showed up and had no idea what he did.
This year he got his college degree, which gives him good points, but he is missing the points for (not) being the LPO. The thing is, when he first got to this base, he was the only other First-Class, so he was the next in line to be the LPO. But then another First-Class came to this base, and she has been in the military for more years. So when the old LPO left, she became the new LPO, and my husband was totally skipped. Of course, my husband will be leaving the base next year, so he will never have a chance to be the LPO here.
It would drive me nuts to work in an environment where your achievement is never acknowledged or appreciated.
