Here, in Southern Arizona, the traffic has diminished by leaps and bounds. Construction sites sit empty, materials gone and equipment setting still and silent.
I no longer stand in long lines behind people that don't speak English at the bank.
The parking at the mall is available once again. The long lines at the Wal-mart check out are gone.
The Mexican drive-thru restraunts are now Arbys and Wendys.
Every corner check cashing place in Tucson have closed.
Is it just here in Tucson? What about the rest of America?
The debates don't mention immigration reform.

I was just wondering if they have moved to other states, because of this, or if they have gone back to thier homelands.
Anyone out there seeing a huge influx of illegal immigrants?
Americans have a hand in this, however, as we want cheap food, etc.. We want cheap everything, but we also want to be well-paid for our own work. With the business motive generally that of merely seeking profit, that will take a lot of political will and determination to change.
There is a 95-year-old bank owner here in my community who has given away $25 million in the last four or five years. I need to ask the question, what about the other 91 years he's been on the planet? Why, now that he is about ready to meet his maker is he suddenly so generous?
The new law is really affecting the hotels, and restraunts in Tucson. They state they are having a difficult time trying to fill all of thier positions that are open. When do you suppose the candidates will beging to address the immigration issue of reform?
Now that they have gone how about a push for the local High School and Colleges to get those jobs to Americans. Get all of those whose unemployment has expired and start getting this economy going.
Let's stop selling American corn and other products to Mexico so low that the Mexicans can't compete and go out of business. Then they can once again have a thriving farm business selling their products to Mexico. Apparently the American goverment subsidizes these products to Mexico. Lets help Mexicans get jobs in Mexico.
Part 2 is we must help them purify their water so their irrigation water is clean.
I think your tongue in cheek comments weren't appreciated, lol.
For information only, it is against Federal law to hire undocumented workers. Is this enforced ever?
Yes it is, and do you know what happens ??? Local business leaders, often led by the invaded business' owner itself, calls former politicians turned lobbyists and complain. Within hours the INS/ICE is forced to redirect their efforts.
Consider the experience in Nebraska during the Clinton administration
Anyone unaware of the vital role immigrants play in our economy really isn't looking.
