Last night I found myself in the position of wanting to hear President Bush’s announcement about his new Iraq initiative while at the same time not wanting the feel the usual embarrassment and humiliation I normally endure while listening to the man speak. I can honestly say that I have not been able to watch any of his longer speeches in their entirety since he took office due to this uncomfortable reaction. Because of the topic, though, I decided to take a deep breath and see if I could make it through as much of the speech as possible.
Lo and behold, I soon found myself questioning if this was actually the same man that has held our highest office for the past six years. Where there was formerly a stumbling, smirky, swaggering caricature of a good ol’ boy, there was now a well-spoken, seemingly honest, humble, and, dare I say it, distinguished presidential figure, communicating with the gravitas the serious information being proffered rightly deserved. And, what was that I heard him say? That he was responsible for the failures of his administration’s strategies in the war to-date?
Whether you agree or not with Bush’s new strategy to ending the war with the most positive resolution possible, does anyone else out there feel that at the very least Bush has become more “Presidential”? Or do you feel that his handlers and coaches just got it right this one time?

LOL...as long as he was confidently 'scared sh*tless', I would hope it says that he understands/feels the responsibilities of his job....
