Pajama Party Cake Help Needed!

Stephy is going to be 6 years old in January and she's asked to have a pajama birthday party!  Party favors, food and games were a breeze for me to come up with.  I am however having a difficult time trying to figure out what kind of cake to make.  I ALWAYS make the cake to match the theme, it's something I enjoy and have fun doing. I'm totally drawing a blank for a cake design.

I was thinking about doing the Princess & the Pea cake but am wanting other options/choices as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm hoping that you all might have some ideas for me!  Here are just a few of the Cakes I've Made in the past.

the Napping House is a book by Audrey Wood where everyone in the house is sleeping - it starts with a grandma taking a nap, then the dog, cat, child, etc. joins in

I was thinking you could do a cake in the shape of Flannel PJ top and bottoms. It would be hard, but I have seen some of your cakes and I know you could pull it off. Then you could decorate the PJ top/bottoms in girly colors or designs. That would be really cute.

You would probably have to make two cakes and then cut them to the shapes of flannel PJ's. Then you could put Stephy's favorite colors and designs on the cake.

Yeah, and you could use icing to maket the buttons and ruffles on the cuffs or something.

Bridget I like the PJ idea, make it with cupcakes, sketch out a outline of PJ's and then you can put in cupcakes to fill the outline and frost the cupcakes. Decorate them to make a PJ design.

i like the princess and the pea... but if your daughter doesn't know the story...i'd go with the story that she does know...like monkeys jumping on the bed. very cute.

ps. when you said pajama party cake. I thought you could give her a pajama cake (like the diaper cakes) where a pajama is rolled into a cake roll and little bed accessories are attached to it.

You could do a teddy bear cake. Or your daughters favorite type of animal, like teddy bear is to symbolize the stuffed animal that she likes. Cause i know that my kids loves their stuffed toys. They do not go any where with out them.

I think id make little square cakes to look like beds for each child and then make one big bed cake, i use to love to make cakes when my kids were young. one will be 21 tomorrow and the other 24 the day after and the youngest 19 in December. so my cake making days are over

Pretty much all of these are the same- 1 large "bed" with lots of kids sleeping in it. But, number 12 is really cute, with kids sitting up watching TV, and a bed in the room, with sleeping bags.

It's just a pajama party and NOT a slumber party, that's why I'm having such a difficult time with the cake idea! :)
