We took it for regular checkups and oil changes and all.
It lasted for ever, We drove thru the salt mines and what finished the car 10 years later was it was rotting in strange places, we had holes on the floor of the car, could see out underneath, and other parts of the car that our mechanic said he never sees rot away, was. Hated to get rid of it. But the seat was gonna fall out soon lol
My first car was a lemon a Mercury Sable - ugh so glad that thing is long gone!
It had also been spray bombed midnight blue with no clear coat added to keep the paint from bleeding. Everytime you touched the car you turned blue.
It had to have the alternator replaced 2 or 3 times, a new battery, a new relay switch and finally got totaled while I sat at a red light on my way home from work one day. It was raining and the other driver slid, she panicked and slammed on the breaks. It made her slide more and she went over the median, hit the car in front of me, bounced off of that car and hit me.
Definitely not Fast and Furious caliber. It was better left in a junkyard.
it was previously a cop car, so it had a roll bar stabilizing weight on the engine that allowed it to take corners at ridiculous speeds. i used to let my boyfriend take it to drag race and he always won!! i remember going out on a straight stretch one time and passing 8 cars, and by the time i settled back into my own lane i was doing 122 mph. woah! that reminds me, i need to ask my dad why he ever thought that vehicle would be suitable for a 16 year old who wasn't afraid of anything! LOL
I owned about 4 cars before I was legal to drive, and I never drove any of them. There was the Colt, a Sentra, a Ranchero, a CRX. Most of them belonged to boyfriends, but my name was on them as well. The CRX I ended up keeping and driving after I got my licence at 21.
It was always a good time, whatever it was!
It had a big motor, loaded with everything, T-tops, you name it. Boy was it fun to drive, and could really move out... ha ha.
I miss it *sigh*... ;-)

I thought it was fast, but everyone but my dad and I thought my old Daihatsu belonged in the junk yard. It was a fantastic car though, and it sure took me many interesting place.
Whenever we needed knew pieces for it, my dad always went to the junkyard to find them:)
It was definitely fast and furious - a fun ride! The color was that typical Ford orangey/red. We traded it in for a new Toyota, which was economical, but neither fun nor fast or furious - boring, but reliable transportation was more like it.
It did get me from point A to point B though, and for that I am grateful.
And yes, I could get it fast and furious if I wanted too.....
Eventually, I upgraded to a "fast and furious" '72 Pontiac Firebird. That car did not have a slow speed!
" SILLY COWBOY'S TRUCKS ARE FOR CHICKS "
When my daughter turned 16 I passed it down to her and she still has it to this day she is now 30 and on her daughter's , my grand daughters 16 th B-day she will get that truck
Our baby is a classic and we will never part with her
The only car that i have ever had was a 1988 Honda Prelude Si , two doo sports car. The color was Milano Red, with a two barrel carberateur. Pretty swift & nimble car. I remeber one time that i was on the freeway going about 75 miles per hour & I moved into the fast lane (extreme left) all of a sudden the car automatically did 180 degree spin right in the middle of heavy traffic.
Lets just say that it was an unforgettable moment in my young life. Kept the car for three years then suddenly it was towed away. I was never able to retreive it cack from the tow yard. Honda had made som really nice sports cars in the late 80ies & ealy 90ies.
Sincerely Yours
Lacie
The guy who taught me to drive a stick, allowed me to drive his car on many occassions by myself alone. And OMG!!! It was a yellow Mitsubishi 5000GT (drool) and ohboy did that thing go fast!!
The first car I bought was a little MG sports car. I loved the manual clutch, manual choke, everything about that car. For some reason, my husband didn't think it was appropriate for a new mother and we sold it.
