This is my first movie review, so please be nice.
To begin to know a little about myself, I haven been watching horror movies since I was a kid. I've seen many of them throughout my whole life and often many of them have become predictable. So I will just speak my honest opinion of it and hopefully you will find my insight a little helpful. If not, by all means, critique away. Regardless, I will continue on with the movie review.
The Happening.
Many movies like this people's first perception is normally excited, but when they leave the movie it is either they really enjoy it or really hate it. I've heard several people hate it. I am a bit indifferent about it, but it was an enjoyable movie. People complain that the danger is just wind, but in reality it is not that.
The movie has an undertone that has a message behind it, but I think since most people don't like to be tricked to think that they were going to something scary that was making these people do crazy things, and instead got told what they were doing wrong. This puts off viewers, but if the viewer goes in not expecting anything, I think they will leave satisfied.
There was some great intensity throughout the movie. However, I think the director wanted to get an "R" rating so people would think that it would be a gory mess and scary to garner more viewers, which I think worked. However, in reality, I believe gore was just thrown in there for the rating and it was not needed to carry the movie on.
Some of the acting and dialogue were poor because of the characters that were given did not really need much to further themselves in the movie. The whole girl not talking until the end of the movie has lost its effect.
I liked the message in it and was a bit hesitant about it because so many disliked it, but I left satisfied. So this is my first review. Hope you liked it. If not, perhaps tell me what I can do to make it better. Thanks :)

Some scenes were kind of weird (I liked them) and left me asking why they were in there, but weird is OK sometimes, LOL.
Thanks for the review.
I have found that to be true of a lot of genres...
I enjoyed your review!

U wishing you laughter
