An 80's Pop Star, a Princess, a Dog, a Tiger, a Pirate and a Cowgirl make up some of my favorite past Halloween costumes :) Besides dressing up with my sisters and racing the streets for candy, I used to love October because it meant I could watch Hocus Pocus as many times as possible in 31 days. (***side note, Halloween movies are like Christmas films & music at my house, they are only allowed during the actual season, NOT when the malls start prepping for them).
What movies will you be watching with your family as they count out their Snickers Bars from their Kit Kats? OR, which "scary" movies did you enjoy as a kid and keep watching today. Here are my top 3 personal favorites
1) Hocus Pocus - Bette Middler, Sarah Jessica Parker & Kathy Najimy as 3 witches back in Salem and dealing with technolgy (they're flying on vaccume cleaners instead of brooms) while striving to stay immortal. Directed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) & also showcases a pre-indy film Thora Birch.
2) It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown - need I say more?
3) Casper - The "friendliest ghost there is" plays host to Christina Ricci & Bill Pullman and tries to keep his rude & crude uncles (also ghosts) from ruining his new friendships.

The holiday film traditions at this house are:
New Year - When Harry Met Sally
St. Valentine's Day - An Affair to Remember
Thanksgiving - The Wizard of Oz and Miracle on 35th Street (the original in black & white)
Christmas - Holiday Inn, Babes in Toyland, It's a Wonderful Life
carving pumpkins, putting out scarecrows and decorating for halloween. My favorite costume was Peter Pan.
