Veery stingy
I came out from my house one early morning and as I was going up the street I saw this man loitering in front of his own house. He was muttering some obscene words and was apparently upset and determined to put something straight. At a point this man seemed to have lost his resolved, opened his gate to get back into his house.
At that point one limping elderly man arrived his gate. This elderly man obviously earns his living or at least suppliments it by rumaging in people's gabbage for plastic containers and scrap irons, alluminion and copper. He was always careful to pack the gabbage well and leave the gabbage box tidy. Immediately my neighbour saw this man, he confronted him in a loud voice, gave him no opportunity to defend himself, accused the man of stealing gabbages and thretened to get him arrested.
The elderly man looked miserable and dumbfounded and as I reached them ,my neighbour started explaing to me what he was able achieve that morning and expected me to lend support. As soon as I grasped what was on, I involuntarily used my nose to give an uncertain reply and increased my pace to 2 meters per second even as the elderly man was quickly walking away too. (I hate being shot in a cross fire because the pain is harder to bear and when chest tube is inserted, it seems to drain indefinitely) My neighbour continued to pour obscene words on all gabbage thieves and the likes of them. He said that his gabbage has been losing volume due to their nefarious activities.
The only phrase that crossed my mind that day was.....Stingy people them... I completely forgot the incident. Within one week, I was told that a man was shot and killed down the street. The news about it was that he was discovered two days after he died for he lived alone. Neighbours percived the smell of ammonia and called the police.
My personal theory was that he was shot by someone he provoked. What I suddenly realised is that in the world of today, it is no longer safe to make threats to any human being. I guess we should instead thank God that we are not in the shoes of that man we feel the urge to "smeer and sadden" One man that is a jenitor in a hospital landed himelf in trouble by saying to a patient; 'If you hit me, I will kill you'
He lost his job and is struggling to be out of jail. Some men in low stations have the capacity to pull down anyone they face. The blog is my pesonal view based on what I saw.
Life is supreme, sacred and invaluable but not everyone agrees to that.
