I like how the essentials are set up. Some people do wonder what the prerequisistes are for getting featured, so a more indepth explanantion would be nice.
Maybe highlight more than 3 groups at a time...
I'm pretty new here and if I hadn't found a few people willing to help me navigate I could have wandered for who knows how long. A "How to " on navigation would be a great help
I agree there should be an outlet for creative writing/short stories. Many joined Gather for this type content.
Gather.com needs a place to post religious and moral issues. So many articles with these slants and ones focused only on those subjects end up in inappropriate categories.
Namaste, Wayne
Thanks for all your terrific ideas! I wish we could launch Essential groups for each of the great topics you listed above…and hopefully in the future we will! My name is Pam Johnston, I'm the new VP of Community Engagement here at Gather. My job is to make your Gather experiences rich, rewarding, engaging and ultimately enjoyable. As you may know, we launched the first nine essential groups in February. They have been wonderfully received and we're looking forward to adding new essentials in the future. Your feedback and opinions are not only appreciated… but embraced. Keep them coming! Everyone here at Gather is listening and working hard to build you the best community possible.

Plagerized articles without attribution is only the most egregious offense. The quality of offerings by some correspondents do not meet even the most elastic standards of journalism or literacy.

When will correspondent positions be open to new people?
'Cause I'm kickin' myself hard for not applying the first time around!
honestly, I have over 600 articles I could put up here, but I hesitate and post real articles sparingly because I hate having something featured next to a known plagiarist. I have a career to consider, and if my editors saw that, I have no idea how they would react.
I myself have pointed out numerous health care articles that were literally pasted verbatim from other websites. It was my assumption that the "correspondents" for these groups were supposedly chosen as they were the best, not because they can cut & paste. YOU are paying these people to give your website a bad name. Is that good business? I don't think so.
Essentials would be great if there was a Non-fiction essential and a Fiction essential.
I, too, question how long these correspondents' contracts last. And it would be nice to question the Gather members concerning Essentials, there are great suggestions out there, just no place to present them.
