Eragon a very good movie.

This is a 102 minute film rated PG. This movie to me is well writen and the story itself is excellent. The Edward Speleers is a relatively new comer. He is very young looking and cute. He plays the character of Aragon and he brings life to the role. I also like the performance of Jeremy Irons as well he played in Kingdom of Heaven and was good in that also. These two actors together made this movie in my opinion great. One new actor and one very seasoned actor in roles that suited both. There is no bad language in this movie. There are some violent fight scenes but they are done so well that I would not have a problem in letting a young child seeing it.

The animation on the dragon in Aragon is great. The dragon when it hatches is so cute that you just want to hug it. The dragons face is done with such style and grace that it is lovely.

I understand the writer of the book Christopher Paolini was only 15 when he started writing the book Aragon. I also think that it is great that this is going to be a trilogy. There will be three more movies and hopefully they will be as well done as the first.

If you love adventure movies and magic and dragons this is definatley for you. I loved Lord of the Rings and I am not saying this Aragon is better, but it is very close to the quility of Lord or the rings.

I look forward to seeing the other two movies to come. Aragon is a must see movie for all ages.

I wasn't overly impressed with the film, though I understand the book is well written. I found the script painfully linear with little left to the imagination. I did enjoy Jeremy Irons' acting and the animation was fun, but it was not enough to sustain my interest or that of my children.

From my understanding there is supposed to be two more. There was a total of three books written and I thought I read that they were in production of the second. I am not sure but I do hope so. I enjoyed this one so much I would like to see how the story will end.

My cousin got tired of hearing me and my daughter talk about this movie that she went out and rented in yesterday. She is 45 and she called me last night to let me know that she loved the movie as well. She said she cried at the end because she thought the dragon was dead. She also thinks the dragon is very pretty too. this is definately a movie for all ages.

I was glad to read that the movie is suited for younger children. My 5 year old boys keep asking me if we can rent it and I wasn't sure it would be appropriate for them. After reading these reviews, we will be renting it this weekend.

The movie, as just that, was good - quite suitable for young kids. Saphira (the dragon) was well animated (not very blue though...) and the action sequences were well choreographed without too much gore. However, having read the book, my husband and I were very disappointed. As I understand it, Christopher Paolini (the author) only gave permission for his book to made into a movie, but didn't have any actual say in the screenplay. Big Mistake!!! From very early on in the movie the story line became fractured and strayed from the original story. So much of The Story was left out, that had we not read the book, we would have been left wondering about ALOT of things. By the end of the movie my husband and I were so disgusted - there is no possible way that the story line can continue and be accurate to the books! My feeling is that the movie-makers saw a great book that was selling well and decided to make a movie out of it hoping for a series as big and wonderful as Harry Potter or The Lord Of The Rings, but instead of taking their time with it - making sure the movie was true to the book - they rushed it and ruined it.

If you read the Harry Potter books you will find that there are also differences. The book carries the story out so much more than a movie or televition program can do. My daughter likes the Harry Potter books and can tell you real fast the differences but I can't because I found the books to be slow and they did not hold my attention.
I also got the Aragon book from the library and could not get through that book either. My daughter only got to the third chapter when she became very board with it. She did enjoy the movie though.
Most Authors who write books sell the rights to it but do not have anything to do with the writing of the screne story. This is the norm, however, I am sure there are a few authors that keep their rights.
You must remember movies have a time limit books do not. Enjoy the movie for what it is.

I think it would be all right for younger kids, but DH and I found it really boring. I haven't read the book either, so maybe that makes a difference.

I thought the movie was fantastic. I really love it when they bring books to life. I know almost everyone of you who reads a book imagines in your head how it must play out. Yes, I am sure that all of your perceptions of the book or movie are different due to each persons vast imaginations. However, I think overall when a book is put on the screen, it's great because we get to see our imaginations come to life. Even if its not what we imagined. It is still great. I hate it when people agree with critics because they don't seem to use thier imaginations at all when reviewing movies. It may suck to them, but a whole audience will think its great.

I have mixed feelings about this movie. It is a very interesting story for fantasy lovers, but the film lacks character development in my opinion. The whole script just feels a bit rushed to it's conclusion. And extra 15-20 minutes letting the audience warm up to the characters would have done a great deal for this film.
