Although our dictionary states that viking is someone from the north those who live up there believe that viking is actually a verb not a noun. It is armed men that climb in a boat and head out to capture resources they want. In the old days it was women and trade goods or precious metals then we spyed Britan and it was the good land we wanted along with the other things. We worshiped Woden and Thor in the sacred groves. We looked up to the greatest warrior who killed the most, took the most wealth and hoarded it. This is where our culture and language come from. This is where Twiasday (Tuesday), Wodensday (Wednesday), Thorsday (Thursday), and Friajsday come into our life. The ancient culture is still with us. Around 800AD before we had written language of our own our royalty(those of direct descent from Woden) accepted Christianity as it was presented to them by priests from Rome. The common people were slow to follow. But we never dropped the viking part of our culture. We became Christian Knights and Christian soldiers.
If our language was called Anglish instead of English maybe we would make the connection. If our public schools really taught who we are instead of Greece and Rome maybe we would know who we are. We teach competition and ranking in our public schools instead of cooperation. We teach that competition is good and the only way to be. This paradigm of living with all the wonderful things we make of plastic and iron is tearing up the world. In our wars our young killing foriegn people and taking part in brutalities that are the inevitables in war makes them sick and metally unhealthy. Man has a natural resistance to killing his fellow man and the army has created psychological training to override it.
It is the Anglo Saxons I speak of here where the English language comes from. Before us they spoke Gaelic in Britan and Ojibway here. Jesus taught a better way to live, not worshipping him or praising him and hoping his death will clear your karma. He taught to be a conduit of the Creators love and make the world around a garden that we are meant to tend. Its time to stop and realize who we truly are and how we were meant to function on this planet. We are not meant to be selfish and alone that is unhealthy. We are meant to love, live in large extended groups, and interact with the intelligent universe. Its time to lay down the arms and listen to those around us, deeply listen.
