Why should America be the world police ?

As a high school teacher one day in history class I asked the students why are we the world police? I got a lot of blank looks back, one student said "the constitution?" I ask you on what basis do the American working people give up so much of their labor and so many of their good lives to police the world as we are currently doing in Afghanistan and Iraq? I personally think we the working people are being used by those who control the wealth in this country to secure their investments, pay for lucrative military contracts for the likes of Haliburton, and make sure the international labor movements are squashed. When will we ever learn. If we don't it will keep happening and those future tax payers will just have to keep paying.

How to get the USA into recovery?
One way would be to use one's mental power of envisioning, to "see" the USA as one person attending a 12-step meeting, and go from there.
The USA needs recovery, de-possession, all kinds of stuff. And it's possible to accomplish these healings, if enough of the group is aware and willing to participate in the vibration of collective self-healing.
I do not understand the many alliances that our government makes. I did not know that Pakistan has given Iran the nuclear weapon making equipment. Our government has lead the world in the nuclear arms race and thus been a driving force in the international development of this kind of terrible weapons. Myself personally I have worked politically to stop the building of nuclear weapons but with little effect as there is so much money to be made by the weapons contractors who profit from this industry. I do not support it. I support international cooperation and dialog but my political leaders do not listen to me I do not give them money in the large amounts they need to keep getting elected. Thank you for commenting upon my article that I wrote so long ago. I have almost given up on writing anything because nobdy seems to care. They like silly poetry better it keeps them amused.
