Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a quick moment to tell each of you that you're special. I'm not going to put religion into any of this since there are plenty of other gatherers who both do it and are more qualified and knowledgeable to be able to do so.
Anyways, I know that we all have moments where we're feeling down, tired, or simply alone. We hear things like "people do care about you, love you, and think about you" and yet it may just sound like words. Well, I am saying right now that I am writing this for you, yes you, the one who is reading this right now. Listen, life has its ups and downs and you know that there's probably little that I can tell you that you don't already know yourself. Sometimes it is nice to have a little kick in the butt and I want you to do a few things. Yes, they may be arbitrary and it may seem like they may not be worth the effort, but you've read thus far and at this point, why not try them out. Alright, here are the things that I want you to do:
1) Get up, go to where there is a mirror and make the strangest face you ever have. I'm meaning the type of face that if someone were to walk in, you'd have no real way to explain what you're doing.
2) Next, I want you to grab a pen, marker, paintbrush, or whatever, and draw a smiley face somewhere on your body. I don't care if it's on your left hand, your belly button, or under your big toe. You can put it in a spot that can be covered by clothes or in a spot where everyone can see. Yes, it's childish, but I want you to do it anyways. If you get a contact dermatitis from such things, I'll allow you to replace this step by drawing a smiley face on a sheet of paper.
3) I want you to go to http://www.google.com/ and type in the 1st word that comes to your mind. It can be "lobster" or "jingle" or "laughter" or whatever. Then click on the images tab and see what you find.
4) I want you to make a list (mental, written, whatever) of 5 things that you would totally love right now (whether it's a massage, a billion dollars, a kangaroo that can speak French, etc.).
5) Lastly, I want you to comment back to me here and tell me 3 things that you like about yourself. I don't care if it's that you can burp the alphabet, you still have all your toes, or that you can communicate via telepathy, etc.
Now whether or not you actually do this, I may never know. Still, I'm happy that you've read this far and take a few seconds to think to yourself that I, Dan, was actually thinking about YOU. I was wondering how you were and was thinking good thoughts. You really are a great person. You are capable of so much. You are unique and not simply because it's something that people say. Seriously, no one has ever lived your life. No one has ever had each of the thoughts and feelings that you have. You have had dreams that none of us will ever have. You have so many things that you could teach me. I am proud to be your friend, and you are worth it.

Now Dan, what about you? I'm sure you can think of at least three things that make you special :)
1. I like my goofy sense of humor
2. I like my brown eyes, even though i'm legally blind, I think they are pretty
3. I like that people find me easy to talk to.
PS - I have a smiley face on my body all the time - I have a smiley face tat on my foot.
1. I have a genuine caring of others, I truly like people and hope to see them only do good though I am aware that bad can happen too.
2. I have the best family, even with all the foilbles in our family I truly love them.
3. I seem to attract good people around me.
Now the 3 things. This is hard right now as I feel like a failure in most things right now. :-(
1. I like the fact that my kids mind me and yet love me.
2. I like that I live in the country right where I want to be.
3. I like that I have a good job and make a decent wage.
Hey that wasn't so hard after all!! Thanks!
1. My ability to love others and show compassion.
2. My desire to be better in every capacity-even though I may not always succeed.
3. The way that I drive myself to learn and experience new things. :)
1. I am truly thankful that I was given the gift of intelligence, with some knowledge and wisdom from my family and I have been able to use these to help myself and other people in life
2. Hubby says I suffer from an excess of niceness, I like that about me
3. I try to be a good wife to Hubby, friend to my friends, neighbor to my neighbors etc. because that is how I would like them to treat me
4. Sorry Dan there is a number four, I thank G-D for having so many kind, sweet, intelligent and generous people touch my life and making me truly fortunate
Thank you Dan!
I do the strange face all the time. I think I will let my kids give me the smiley face- it will make them feel VERY important.
This is my word: Juggernaut. The images are all a bunch of real and cartoon, oversized men making MEAN faces. It is actually very funny!
My list has been made
3 things I like about myself:
uh oh...dead end. Thinking...thinking...
am really out of ideas here. I will get back to this one.
I like that I like to read.
I like that I really love being with family. It is important to me and never feels forced. (at least on the one side...!)
1. I am a mother of three kids
2. I am a good cook
3. I am compassionate about nature and animals.
