Yesterday morning was beautiful. At ten degrees fahrenheit and a high in the twenties, the hoar frost hung on until almost afternoon. I layered my clothing ending with my long down coat. I've been told I look like that tire companies logo, I don't care I'm a warm logo. Oh yea and don't forget the new camera !
Of course we can't get out the door with out the kids, Tawanda, Scooter and Autumn. Two jack russels and a red heeler. My small car was fun and noisy. Scooter has to yip until the car in put into reverse and is backing out. He is so weird he seems to follow the sound of the ignition as you start the car.
Winter is a beautiful time in the Kittitas Valley, and Matoon Pond was gorgeous. Lets enjoy the winters day as we explore the pond together.

The road is not mantained in the winter months, so we follow in the tracks of others. Snow's well beaten down and not very deep. Lots of white and blue this morning .

One of the first things you'll see as you get out of the car is a streak of red or white as the dogs speed by. They love our walks no matter the weather.

As I said the frost clung to everything, it was a true winter wonderland !
Even looking up is awesome, the branches on the trees glisten in the sunlight.

The morning mist rising off the pond, as the sun warmed things up ever so little, added to the beauty.

Across the pond a man and his best bud, a black lab, were enjoying some ice fishing. Ellensbugers sure know how to live don't they ?

A niece who moved to WA with her husband gave me the impression that snow is rare there.
