I began a chat last night to catch up with people and headed out to a friend's house to celebrate her b-day. I was only expecting to be gone a few hours at most and then come back to see what everyone was up to. I ended up getting home around 5am after an interesting night so I went right to bed. I came back on this morning to find that people had kept up the chat and I missed it. So, if you're still awake or if you've woken up again, let me know what you're up to. What did I miss?

Hey Lynn, where is the cabin you'll be renting? Our family used to have a cabin up in Lake Arrowhead and I'm not even sure if it's still around after all the fires. We sold it a few years ago.

I remember when we had our first child, we had a cat and he got killed on the highway where we were living at the time, a week or so after we came home. This is very similar.

HI, THis is something new for me. I am home waiting on hold with the Apple computer tech support. I am trying to set up a new email for my fledgling photo business. It is on hold with really awful music!!!! I tried last night but got a technician who didn't speak English very well and we just couldn't get it done. I keep hearing "all of our respresentatives are still busy...." Distract me please.

Hi Lorraine. It should be all but automatic to set up email on a Mac. Did you get a new computer or just Leopard OS? Two of our five Macs are now on Leopard. So far, only minimal problem with one of the 3-year-old iBooks.
Hope you get it solved fast and easy like a Mac!

I've been up since around 7, and online except for a foray to the grocery store. I goofed... meant to buy a turkey breast and bought a whole turkey instead... but none of my family eats dark meat. Gonna tell my neighbor across the street who ONLY eats dark meat that I'll have a big ol' plate for him on Thanksgiving.

In case you're wondering why I purchased the holiday meal today, it's because my dh gets paid every other week and his next payday will be ON Thanksgiving Day... maybe the day before but the pickins will be slim by then.

We are having Thanksgiving dinner at my house. I know the others would like turkey, but I'm a vegetarian. I don't mind cooking a little chicken once in a while for my husband, but I just can't bring myself to do a turkey. A bit to realistic for me. Especially after I read someone else talking about washing the turkey out. Not my thing...So, anyone want to come over and cook one for me?

So... you're talking about having turkey? yes? I cooked my 20 lb-er. day before yesterday and have been eating "Mama Bird" samiches ever since! lol... There's still some good, good leftovers, you guys... dressing, cranberry sauce... the whole 9 yards (started to say "enchilada" -- but, somehow, that didn't sound so good...) I got mine early cuz they were on sale at Safeway for $7.99 for all of them over 16 lbs... so, I said, why not get a big 'un? and I couldn't think of a reason why not, so I did... and it was too big for the freezer so, I hadda cook it, you see...

Oh, but I did describe it that day. You must have missed it. I work in the Women's Programs at a community college. We do a lot of different stuff, including finding funding to help low-income parents go to school. I track the budgets, supervise workstudy students, and run a student study lab.
I'm also a freelance writer, which is what I'm doing today with this "project."
