Live poor to be free
For the most part, if you're on my list, I doubt you're a millionaire. Neither am I. Still, there is something to learn about freedom in being poor.
Having money allows for financial freedom. It allows you to have a place of your own (eventually if you do not have it now) and to get out from any circumstances that you may not be happy with.
Some of you currently live at home and are sick of it, or you're living with a roomie/bf/gf/spouse who you wish you could have the courage to leave.
Some of you would like to go back to school but feel it's too expensive and that you cannot get back to that point or have the resources to go on.
I want all of you to do a few simple things and to actually do them:
1) open a bank account (there are a variety of bank accounts that you can get, and if you can stay away from fees, do it).
2) open a paypal account. Paypal is currently paying upwards of 5% (yes there are higher paying options sometimes a CD, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc, but those take research). You can move money between a checking account and paypal with ease. It's a good way to save money. I currently get over $80/month simply by having money in there and another $105/month by having some other money in a CD. Savings accounts help.
3) Cut out what is unnecessary. Drinking starbucks is a luxury, not a necessity. Smoking, drinking, going out to eat all takes a major toll on your pocketbook and you will have a LOT MORE MONEY if you cut these things down to a bare minimum. Remember, you are living poor now so that you can have an amazing life later and not be stuck in the rut you may be in.
4) Find things that are free for entertainment. I love game nights. They only cost gas money (and maybe snack money). Go hiking, take walks on the beach or in your area if no beaches are nearby. Go play sports.
5) Find a job or better job. If you don't have a job, get one. If you're in an underpriced job, look for a better paying job. Yes you are able to handle the work and you are qualified. If you don't know how to start, try a temp agency (actually, take 2-3 hours and sign up with 3 different agencies which you can find by googling them in your area). They have 1 day positions, weeklong positions, monthlong, and longer. Plus, you can negotiate your price with the agency. They get a markup and make money as you work. If there's a 50% markup, If you're being paid $12/hour, they're actually being paid $18/hour by the other company and are keeping $6/hour so after they offer the position, always ask for at least a dollar more than what they offer you. They will most likely say yes, or will negotiate higher at least than what they offered. They want you working because you make them money as well. Have someone help you with your resume. However, look for jobs in positions you're interested in if possible, otherwise, you won't be happy.
6) Find easy ways to make money online. I have a few banners up for sites that pay you to use them and they're all free. The best site I've used is a free survey site that pays you for every survey whether you qualify or not. I have made over $1,000 from it. It's not a million dollars but that's some serious change. Also, I have banners up for paid-to-click sites. Essentially, you get paid to be subjected to advertising. It's not much money, but if you do them regularly, you can spend time while myspacing and making some nice money on the side. Plus, if you use the banners I have on my page and sign up, we both make money.

Not all my comments will be personalized as there are 20 pages of articles to read through and even more than that on photos and I would rather spend the time reading and looking and enjoying then writing!
