{10 photos, for those gathering on dial-up}

a few days ago, we had a day of respite, of indian summer - such warm weather, a balm to the soul. we lunched al fresco, lakeside - glorious! we carved our pumpkins late at night, in the dark - perfect for halloween creativity.

and ed had his last golf outing of the year. now, snow and cold prevents him from going out (well, that and the fact that the golf courses are closing for those very same reasons). lillie and i went along to take pictures - we call ourselves a roving band of photographers. such fun!

here are a few images from that outing. the weather was warm (70!) and there were about 5 other groups of golfers. as is usual around here, the golf courses are carved out of old fields. there are almost always barns around, and the course is bordered by corn fields and dirt roads. such a bucolic setting. we enjoyed being out in the fresh air, munching on animal crackers and sipping apple cider. ed had a good game, he says, and so we were all happy.
