I have been searching, seeking, in the sense of philosophy for the purpose of art in the world of humanity. Today, while listening to background noise on the tv, rightbrain/left brain science for the masses, how we might proft, I heard social-analyst Daniel Pink say:
"Artists give people, the world, what they didn't know they were missing."
and was blown away.
Is there some work or artist that has given you that gift?
The thought brought me to:
"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of our exploring will be
To arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."
T.S. Eliot
"Little Gidding"
"Four Quartets"

Yourself and quite a few here at Gather have given of yourselves through your Art, Writing, Photography and Ethical politics and commentary, in such a way as to help me formulate a growing sense of hope.
In such a pivotal time, where hope is the most needed source of wealth I'd say it's the greatest contribution we can make to the world.
Van Gogh and Rilke are my first answers.
"I tell you, the more I think, the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people." Vincent Van Gogh
That is in his work.
I have been inspired by TS Elliot and ee cummings, Van Gogh, Dali, Ansel Williams ... and by other poets who are just writing from heart and soul.
Thanks for posting in Journey Into Poetry !
