Daily Whine & Shine - February 22, 2008
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Is no one else listening? Have they heard it all before? Or do just not want to burden them when they've heard it all before? That's okay. Drop your rants here, folks. (Tsk, tsk. That's RANTS folks. With an "R". Where is your mind?)
Seriously, if friends and family are tired of hearing that you have aches and pains, another doctor's appointment, medications that don't work or whatever, you're free to share any and all of that here.
If finances are your biggest woe, the Daily Whine & Shine is the place to share.
Whatever your problems, however big or small, you can share them here. The regular folks who drop by the Daily Whine & Shine will be glad to rant with you, help you stomp your feet, even help you shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
But we'll also be glad to help you dance and sing and shout, "Yippee skippy!" when things are going better for you.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." ~ Aristotle

But my car is covered with snow and ice and when I tried getting it off, I also discovered my car doors were frozen shut. Traffic reports say that the main roads are "fine" but getting out of the driveway and sub-division would have been a bit of a challenge. (I walked out to the street to test it and almost slipped and fell because of the thin coat of ice.)
Figured it wasn't worth risking, so I called and left a message with the market research company. It's a new one. I'm not sure how they got my name and number. Hmmm.
Anyway, a few minutes ago, the company called and tried to offer me $15 more to get there in a hurry. Um, who hurries in this weather? They're on the other side of town, at least 30 minutes away in good weather. Don't think they were too pleased with me. Since they were insistent that I get there, I guess the "regular" panelists that were supposed to show up in that time slot must have called off too.

David, I sure would love to be in FL right now. I understand about not taking advantage, though. I lived on the Gulf Coast of FL and TX for years, and hardly ever got to the beach. Now I'm sorry...
Guess that's good in itself.
Getting over my sickness, feel stronger and very happy I will see a friend today after many weeks. Well, it seems like a long time to me anyway. So YIPEE!
It will be a fun day and probably a relaxing weekend!
David, I will gladly trade you my snow for your 85 degree sunny weather!
i wanna whine about the snow and my back pain!!! In car accident ruptured disk and have several other bulging disks. I am on pain patches and 3 other drugs, NOT HELPING!!!!
Tina and Matt...I wondered how y'all were doing with this white stuff.
Kimber, I read about your car accident. Bless your heart. I hope things will get better for you. You'll be in my prayers. I don't have disk problems, but I do have back pain. Just had a spinal block to see if that would stop the pain, in fact.
JJB, I feel for you. My hubby was diagnosed with Diabetes 2 a few years back now. He's still getting used to what he can and can't eat...but at least that can be controlled with oral meds. Don't think he could do the shots.
