Howdy, y'all. My eyes are still killing me. Burning. Moist for me (since I have dry eyes). Downright painful. Guess I'll have to make an appointment with my eye doc. And so the new year begins. I already have an appointment with my psychologist, my shrink (because of new meds we're trying which I hate), plus my regular doc wants me to see an orthopedic surgeon about my back and knee and a rheumatologist about my fibro. That's all well and good for her. Sure, we have insurance, but that's a bunch of 20% to pay...that we don't have. Grrr.

Howdy Maria. I should be sleeping too, especially with my eyes so sore. But my body isn't quite ready to shut down. :-)

I am happy...that it's not snowing and that the temperatures have not gone down (at least yet) as far as they predicted.

Could be, Maria, but I don't know. At this point, they're just so sore and red that I look horrible. My eyeballs almost feel swollen and they're painful. The inside of my eyelid is irritated. And the whites of my eyes are not roadmaps. :-) I'm wondering if I haven't gotten a case of pink eye. Haven't had that since I worked with kids.

I've had two great things happen for me already in 2008!! As much of a budget that I'm on, both things involved financial matters.... so I feel very blessed thus far this year! I hope all of you reading this have a wonderful & Hapy New Year and that the rest of the year is good for you!!

I've seen a few posts about this lately, and I wonder if there's a way to avoid this. Ready? When you have a chronic illness and get energized somehow and are able to do some things that you haven't been able to do, how do you stop yourself from doing too much? How do you know what will be too much...until it is?

A few things here I noticed needed saying, It is good marilyn that they are trying to get you well instead of just waiting around till you get so bad that they can not do a thing. That is your bright side in this I think. Money is a issue for everyone and I understand your problem. Just take things in stride as you can and trust the Lord has his hand in this trying to help work things out. As for the pink eye the only way I can ever remember hear tell of anyone getting that is from others make-up unless there is other ways to get it and I have never heard of it. As for your doctors remember do not let them push you around and treat you like a pay check or a number, If that do I give you permishion to punch their running lights out. It is about time they seen us as people with hearts, not a inconveniance.

Still going back and forth on whether or not I have a cold or something of the sort, though having some decaf green tea is helping a bit with the congestion.

And assuming that a bunch of work doesn't land on my desk today, I'm going to try to get some writing done, which hasn't happened in quite a while! :)

My eyes continue to burn, my eye lids are swollen and the whites of my eyes are not white but red, red, red. (Well, still roadmaps.) Over-the-counter eye drops have done nothing. I called my opthamologist and his office said since I was due for my yearly exam in the summer and didn't get there, he can't do anything for me until I have the exam. Next appointment is January 12. That doesn't help my eyes TODAY. I called my regular doc's office and she's too busy to see me. But they emailed her with my problem to see what she can do. Maybe another doc in the group can take a look at my eyes. Grrr.

No offence but i would be carful aboutb what quack they cast you off to. after my last hospital stay I do not trust when you can not see your normal doctor and they just pass you off to one that seems to want to deal with you but is only after a fast buck. I am not saying that to be rude it is your safty in your eye sight i worry about. If you get to where you can not see at all perminantly you will feel more a prisioner than you do now and that won't be any fun for you.

My own doc couldn't see me, but she knows enough about me to prescribe something. Hubby is off picking up the script now. Yippee. Doc said not to wear my contacts for a few days. Great. No driving without them, since I don't have a pair of glasses. Next time I see a $99 ad from JCPenney or Sears, I really should get some for back-up. (Even though they won't ever stay up on my nose.)

Also having IBS problems today. Or maybe it's just nerves because of my eyes. My mouth tastes like cotton...like I'm dehydrated. Grrr.

I am shinning right now. I "dumped" off my two kids at grandma's house...yippee! I will say this...I love my kids, however, I will be so glad when school is back in session.

Fortunately, I do not have much to whine about today. Everything is coming together nicely and I am in the best mood I've been in a long time. I did have to deal with a few nasty drivers, but that's their problem. Apparently I'm not allowed to slow down to look at an address - lol ;)
