Michelle Obama and Me

Michelle Obama is a Capricorn, as am I. We are overly responsible, carry the weight of the world, are loyal, practical, capable, tend to think things over slowly, cautious, droll. What we tend not to be is bubbly, socially effusive, easy to know, trusting, optimistic, light-hearted. We can be warm, wonderful friends, but only once you take the time to get beyond our crusty self-protective demeanor. We carry emotional wounds over long periods of time, maybe forever, and don't take insults lightly. We are ambitious, hard-working, reliable, striving to excel. We are often the backbone of our families, communities, businesses. It's not easy being a Capricorn. We are often vilified because our seeming coldness or distance is misunderstood. It is not that we think we are better or "elite". It is that we are scared of rejection or failure, or making an unfortunate gaffe on which others will judge us harshly.
