Be sure and take a peek at the moon tonight!

Just now, I was coming up the freeway from running an errand and I caught a glimpse of the moon coming up over the Macaymas Mountains to the east...

IT WAS HUGE! I don't know if it's completely "full" tonight but it was ENORMOUS!

Which reminded me that I took a photo of the moon LAST night just as the sun was going down:

But, I SWEAR, the moon tonight looked TWICE that size!

Full moon was the fifth and it was a strong one.

New moon was the 5th. Full moon is Sunday the 20th. And yes....great photos! The moon looks huge here also.

Beautiful photo, Jean. I hadn't realized the full moon was so close. That might explain some things around home.

Also, my dog is totally weirded out. Pacing and nervous. I wonder if he can feel the earthquake aftershocks.

We've been noticing it looks 'larger' and sort of eerie this time has anyone else noticed that?

It is, apparently, an optical illusion, due to the frame of reference when it on the horizon as opposed to when it is high in the sky.
But of course, that doesn't really matter. What matters are the thoughts and feelings such a thing evokes. It is a magical thing to see, innit?
