"John Lennon: still missed" is the title of my latest post on http://starsoverwashington.blogspot.com
and, due to today's being his birthday, and to my former Beatlemaniac status, I hope you'll check it out especially if you miss him, too.
The Beatles and me: August 18, 1965, Atlanta, GA during the Great Conjunction of Uranus and Pluto...they were in process of conjuncting my natal Ascendant.
As you may know, Lennon was under threat of deportation from the US if he continued his peace protesting which garnered him too much publicity for a certain US president's comfort.
There are more details in the above post. Check it out, if you're interested in Mr. Lennon--facility in Astrologese not required, sadness at his assassination assumed.

RIP John
I loved him (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Cheryl--he was one of a kind...the kind the warmongerers love to hate.
In the 70's, I had a bookstore on Cannery Row on Monterey, California "The Polygon" from which my astrological adventure began, and where I published many local poets. My 2 yr old daughter, Kate, was with me in my store most of the time. Her play area was in the lounge at the front of the store where we held readings and special events.
When John Lennon and Yoko Ono lived in Pebble Beach, they purchased their marijuana from a guy at the record store next door, and then usually gravitated to my store, where John immediately went in to find Kate, and Yoko wandered through the old and new stacks of books.
Kate always had her eye on the door and would dash to the lounge the minute she saw him. This went on for months. She often sat next to me at the front desk and seemed to be mumbling a tune..humming or something, but I didn't pay much attention until I started catching a word or two in the "off color" category It seems that Mr Lennon was teaching my 2 1/2 old bawdy pub songs!
When I confronted him, he just gave me that smile. There was no negative intent - just sharing a catchy tune. You didn't stay angry with this man. But I did ask him to find a new genre to share. Now Kate is an adult and so sorry that she can't remember any of those tunes.
Years later, the cannery my store had been in burned to the ground. The day John Lennon died.
