libra's child
What is this "love" that pulls me to you?
A gauzy veil of hope, desire, imagination
woven with faery dust and good strong rope
irritating, clinging, anchoring and ringing
those bright clear bells of joyous meeting.
I see those bells, ringing in the clouds
while tears rain down
gently on my fingertips.
You have kissed me there, taken me by surprise.
Romantic interludes, moments between time,
so that time drags now, drags me down
harsh and joyless.
It was but a veil
of imagination's weaving.
Would that I had gaily played,
a curious and blithely distractable
dancing child.
Would that it could be enough
to dance the veils
moving into understanding
of the intricacies
of intimacy.
A gauzy veil of hope, desire, imagination
woven with faery dust and good strong rope
irritating, clinging, anchoring and ringing
those bright clear bells of joyous meeting.
I see those bells, ringing in the clouds
while tears rain down
gently on my fingertips.
You have kissed me there, taken me by surprise.
Romantic interludes, moments between time,
so that time drags now, drags me down
harsh and joyless.
It was but a veil
of imagination's weaving.
Would that I had gaily played,
a curious and blithely distractable
dancing child.
Would that it could be enough
to dance the veils
moving into understanding
of the intricacies
of intimacy.
