When I found out I was pregnant with my second child I had every intention of returning to work. A week after Emory was born, my husband looked at me and asked if I would like to stay home. As a mother of two young boys, of course I jumped at the chance to stay home.
We've spent the last few weeks discussing the pros and cons of both staying home and returning to work, and we finally decided that I will be staying home.
I had my 6 week check-up this morning...it's hard to believe that he will be six weeks old this Saturday! It has flown by so quickly!
Since I was out, I stopped in at my work today while I was out and told my supervisor and Human Resources that I would not be returning to work. Everyone was supportive and said they understood and the director of HR said if I ever wanted to come back to just let her know.
This was a big decision for my husband and I to make, but I am so happy we did. It feels so liberating now, to know that I get to be MOM all the time now--no worrying about which parent takes off for doctor's appointments or feeling guilty because the babysitter serves breakfast, lunch, snack and sometimes dinner because I'm late.
I don't have to worry about being too tired to take Elliott outside to play, I can pick up and go to children's activities that are scheduled during business hours now--like story hour at the library--I know Elliott will enjoy going to the library more!
Can you tell I'm excited!?
