I had big plans of sleeping late this morning, since I have the day off. However, about 6:20ish I could hear Elliott in the hallway calling for me. He has been climbing out of bed for the last few nights--one morning I found him asleep in the hallway floor, the next morning his feet were dangling off the foot of the bed. I figure he fell back asleep before he made it down.
This morning, I figured he had climbed down again and decided he didn't know what to do, so he started crying out for me. I called out to him that I was in the bedroom and he could come to me. He came in there and when I picked him up his pajamas were wet, and his face was wet and sticky. Matt had just come out of the shower, so he checked Elliott's bed, and sure enough he had been sick.
It took a lot of convincing to get Elliott to take a bath (normally he loves baths) but I finally got him bathed and his teeth brushed while Matt started the laundry.
As soon as he was cleaned up, we went into the kitchen and he was sick again. Every time he started walking around or trying to play, he would get sick--he's been sick a total of 5 times this morning.
I wanted him to drink something, but Matt accidently mentioned milk, so Elliott desperately wanted milk--that's his favorite drink. I didn't want him having milk on his stomach, and told him that he could have water or some Sierra Mist, but he wouldn't drink anything. He is so stubborn!
I finally found some shows on television that are holding his interest enough so that he is sitting quietly on the couch. I'm not used to taking care of a sick child--I've been lucky enough that Elliott never really gets sick, so this is all new to me.
He is FINALLY drinking some water now, so I feel a little better. He did not act sick or lethargic last night, and he is not feverish.
We were supposed to have New Year's lunch at Matt's grandma's house--she was cooking a huge meal for everyone. I don't want to take him if he's contagious, but I don't really know how to tell if it's a virus or just a bad combination of everything he ate yesterday.
Of course, now that I wrote about him sitting quietly, he is starting to get up and play. We shall see how this goes! I better get off here in case he gets sick again.

It wouldn't have mattered at that point this morning--he will not drink anything that he did not ask for. If he asks for milk, he expects milk (same with water) and he will hardly drink anything besides water and milk. It took over two hours before he would even take a few drinks of water, because he was mad I wouldn't give him milk.
Try some Gatorade and saltine crackers. Good Luck.
lol i couldn't help but think of how you delt with the smell and sight of that in your condition.
Tiffany--it wasn't easy! I just cleaned Elliott while Matt washed the laundry and cleaned the floors. That way I avoided the messiest part.
