QOTD- Do you follow a schedule? Question-discussion

Sometimes, I find myself wandering through my days without any direction. As a SAHM and a homeschooling mom at that, I really need to have some sort of schedule. I don't think it needs to be rigid, but some sort of guideline would be nice.

 So, the question of the day is. Do you keep/follow a schedule. If so, do you have any tips or suggestions?

Schedule? Uh. I get up at the same time, and get J off to school at the same time, but I really need to get a real schedule going for everything else. However, with remodeling, I just kinda throw up my hands and go with the flow for now...

If I were home schooling, I would actually say, "okay kids, school starts at this time, the breaks are at this time," etc. I think a guideline type of schedule would be better, because life is never exactly what you plan for... :-P

I have always scheduled my time. I find that I'm much more productive that way. I allow some flexibility but at least have a general guideline to follow.

Lisa, guidelines are probably a good idea. I know I just need to start somewhere. Baby steps right?

I am a sham as well and I really dont have a schedule.. we just do whatever sounds fun at the time..

Make a list of what to do and follow it every day, same thing, maybe different times. Put it on a chalk board or one of those marker boards where you can change or add to the list any time and follow it, that will help then you will get to the point of doing it without thinking and be able to sneak other stuff in if you need to

My whole life is a schedule. I'm jealous of people who have a bit more freedom with what they can do. I think having a bit of a schedule is a good thing, but try not to go overboard. As there is little time left for fun in an over scheduled life. Try scheduling a set time to wake up, get dressed, eat and do a few household chores, then let the day take you wherever it want too!

Why yes siree bob, I do. I get up make coffee, pack my lunch, head out the door. Get to work. Work, get off work, go home, make supper, relax, go to bed, and the whole thing keeps repeating itself...How's that for a schedule??

Jean-Thanks for the tips- I have resources for making a schedule- the Flylady notebook and a kit from "Managers of the home" but I just have to use them. :-)

I live by FlyLady. I have 4 children and one on the way and I work full time, so my entire day (and my kids' day as well) is on a schedule. From the minute we get up until the minute we get home. Timers are the best invention ever! :)

Mon-Fri we are absoutely scheduled. But once Sat & Sun come along its whatever happens-happens.

The only schedule that I follow is my medication schedule!
I am in the process of trying to establish a schedule.

I sort of have a loose schedule with the kids, just to get through the day. We tend to go on some sort of outing in the morning, come home and eat lunch, and then do games and crafts in the afternoon, and maybe watch a video while the baby takes a nap. Its not a rigid schedule, just a way to organize my day!
