Good morning everyone!  Hope you're all doing well, I've been on a little vacation from Gather, and probably won't be on as much as I was in Jan. for a while.  

Lately Little Miss has been quite the noisy little baby - my brother calls it her pterodactyl noises.  She isn't unhappy, she's just "talking (or yelling)" as loud as she can, which is pretty loud!  I blame that on her dad, he's a loud-mouth too! 

Is this probably just a phase?  I hope so!

It's most likely a phase, to some degree. But it's something that she will most likely periodically continue to do. :)

My son turned 2 on February 1st, and there are still days that he just makes as much noise as he possibly can, just to hear himself. He talks well, and can normally communicate most things he needs with words, he just likes to yell for fun sometimes.

That is so funny. My kids have each gone through a baby talking phase when they reached age 8. That was really annoying!
I am sure she is just discovering that she can make loud noises! Carlie talks and talks and talks just to hear herself talk!

Michelle - that is what I was thinking, she started the loud noises a couple of weeks ago, but for the past 3 days they've been pretty much nonstop while she's awake. I think it's just a discovery period, "Wow, look what I can do!" so I don't discourage it at all, but I do hope she'll get tired of it before too long!

Maybe she has a tummy ache, music shut me up when I was a baby, That is what my grandmother said anyways. Is she poo poo in okay. You breast feeding her, best way ya know, maybe she isn't getting enough right now.. I sang to our kids when the were crying, that would sometimes quiet them down. Give her a -kiss for me.

She isn't crying or upset Larry, just LOUD! She's figuring out how to use those vocal chords....

They like to hear themselves make noises, and to test there vocal cords out! One day you'll miss this!

I'm afraid I never had a little one or even sibilings, so I really have no idea, but just from general experience with friends' children, I'm pretty sure this is a phase that will be grown out of - hopefully soon, for your ears' sake! ;-D

Hey, my kids are adults and still make those noises if I ask them to do something...
"what was that" I ask.
"oh nothing, just talking to myself" comes the reply.

She's just practicing something that gets attention. And she probably likes the fact that she can make some pretty cool noises.

She's finding her voice April. Maybe if you sing to her in a low voice when she's yelling she'll try to mimic you..I don't know...just talking out my butt as I don't have kids : - )

How old? My kids went through a bunch of different "vocal" stages. My daughter's are DEFINITELY easier than my son's! The worst was when my son discovered echoing. He would run (he started walking at 10 months! Running at 11 months!) from room to room, and then squeal at the top of his lungs in each room to figure out the echoing. I don't know how in the hell he could hear an echo, since all I heard was the horrible ringing in my ears!
My daughter just babbles continually at a nice, low decibel level. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Normal. Its just personality. Sounds like my little one. Some are just more vocal than others. :-)

My little guy love to hear himself talk too when he was a few months old. He's 2yr now and still talks and tells stories. Just not so loud.

She hasn't done it at all today, so maybe she's moving on to quieter things!

odds are that she will go from these noises to babbling into words then sentences. Im going off of my experience as a mom of four and a former educator of birth to 5 year olds :) Watch out with this one and the cell phone when shes a teen

i found that my kids got happier the more they could do...sitting up was good...crawling...that was even better. Then, came running...even better!
