I love Christmas. I love shopping for my girls for Christmas - and I usually spend entirely too much on shiny, blinky, noisy toys that my girls either don't play with, or break before the end of the day.
Especially with the recent toy recalls piling up, I've been seriously thinking about what to get my kids for Christmas.
There's always clothes, of course. My girls love to dress up, and Heaven knows they grow so fast that clothes are never NOT an option. They'd have gotten some clothes anyway...they still ned something to play with.
Then it hit me - BOXES! Plain, cardboard boxes.
Every parent knows you can buy the coolest toy on Earth, and your child will play with the box (unless, of course, your child is a teenager, in which case they'll be happy if it has four wheels, or comes in any color, is able to send and receive texts, and accesses Youtube).
Besides, toys aren't even safe anymore - so I say we cut out the middle man, gather some boxes, and put the money we've saved into college funds.
What say you?

Michael, considering you have to mortgage your house to be able to buy gas these days, you'd think a college diploma would require your first-born - in which case, wouldn't the college have to pay for itself? Wow, that made sense in my head, I swear :)
Trish - another good idea, I may actually do that.
Sherine - all joking aside, read about toy makers that are USA based and strictly test and monitor the ingredients in paints and materials (which are also supposedly made in the USA), have you tried looking for something like that? I'm in the process of Christmas shopping, so if I come across anything good, I'll let you know, if you want.
Lyla - Happy Hanukkah. (and I really, really hope I spelled that right).
