I wanted to follow up from the original article that i had posted. Trish B. had mentioned in a comment that Some of her children were breastfed, and still have athsma.
Mine do too. In fact, I have four children, all breastfed. 3 of them have athsma, one doesn't.
I still think that breastfeeding helps to decrease athsma. I can't imagine the immune deficiancy my kids with athsma would've had if I hadn't breastfed. I belive that the reason my kids have breathing problems, could very well be environmentally-exhaust from the cars, any number of things.
I just don't want to discourage breastfeeding mothers, even if your children do develope athsma, please continue to breastfeed! The kids with the athsma need it the most. Without the added benefits from the breastmilk, your baby may get very sick.
For those who do breastfeed-good for you! I am proud!

I think athsma could also be hereditary, but I don't know that for sure.
