This odd weather has produced some surprising results in my backyard. I had no idea that the poor bag and burlap birch pair (part of my earth day pledge) we planted would actually survive a month, much less make it past the shock and shoulder up to establish itself.
What is blooming for you now? How's the harvest? Are you preparing your garden and lawn for cooler weather?

Hair. Human hair. Out of my hairbrush. Buried just under the soil around the plants you don't want them to harass. A master gardener suggested it and it worked for me. They nibbled on other stuff *shrug* which we didn't mind sharing but left the tomatoes alone.
Our neighbor has a nut tree of some kind and the squirrels are going ape over it - there are shells (I call them "squirrel party empties") and discarded bad nuts everywhere.
